CanPKU+ is excited to share an initative from Global Genes. CanPKU+ is a member of Global Genes. We want to extend this opportunity to our community to fill a gap that may currently exist.
Global Genes is thrilled to announce a collaboration with Brad Thompson, M.A., NCC, LPC-S to host a Caregivers Support Program aimed at helping caregivers develop practical, easily accessible tools and resources to take care of themselves and their mental and emotional health.
The program will provide hands-on, high-touch support for four groups of 12-15 people over the span of six months and will kick off in April 2024. The four cohorts (groups) for the 2024 Caregiver Support Program include:
Caregivers to Rare Adult Children: This group is for caregivers who are parents of rare adult children. (Note: This group is not for caregiving spouses, children or siblings.)
Rare Caregiving Dads: This group is for rare disease caregiving dads.
Caregivers of Rare Pediatric Children - Limited Life Span: This group is for caregivers of rare pediatric children with a life-limiting condition or disease.
Caregivers to Rare Adults: This group is for caregivers who are spouses, children, or siblings to a rare disease adult. (Note: This group is not for caregiving parents.)
Registration for the program is open now! Due to expected high demand, we recommend signing up as soon as possible to secure your spot. Please note that participants will be chosen on a first-come, first-served basis. If a group reaches maximum capacity, you will be placed on a waitlist. Rest assured, if a spot becomes available, we will notify you promptly.
