When Your Beard Gets You Mixed Up! Diving into the brewery scene to help owners spruce up their brands and reel in more distributors, I've hit a snag I didn't see coming… mistaken identity! Yep, joining all these brewery groups, I started noticing some unexpectedly frosty vibes on my posts, especially when charity events popped up in the convo. Then it hit me today – it’s the beard and cap combo! Turns out, I kinda resemble another guy from the industry’s past who, let’s just say, wasn’t doing the noblest things with charity funds. This mix-up has been a real eye-opener on how crucial it is to nail your personal brand, especially in tight-knit circles like breweries. Looks like it might be time for a little makeover, or at least a tweak in how I present myself online, to steer clear of any bad juju from the past. I’ll keep you all posted on the changes and how it all pans out. Several of you participated in past events supporting the Sunshine Division, and we want to continue that support! We are hoping that you can bring one or more non-perishable food items for donation to the Sunshine Division as your entrance to this event—the more the better! This is an exciting opportunity to connect with your fellow members and business partner colleagues while we continue our support of a local community partner. Perhaps a bit of competitive bowling or competitive eating—who knows! Knowing that weekends are often family time, our event is open to your +1 and kids. Mitchell Brewing Co.'s cheeky beer name, Osama Bin Lager, is creating a buzz! This light citrus lager has social media thirsty for a taste, temporarily crashing the brewery's website. Brewery owners Luke and Catherine Mitchell told the BBC that the beer names, including Kim Jong Ale and Putin Porter, are meant to be humorous and offer a "nicer outlook on some horrible dictators." Most people think that really great wine gets its taste from the type of grape. 🍇 They're wrong. It's the type of grape + the soil 🍷 You can have the most highly rated grape but if it's not balanced right with the soil and climate, the wine is not the same. I use this as an analogy for performance in the workplace. Sometimes you have really talented people! But the soil they're in is not right. One may think it's a problem with the individual. This is just up the road from Dufftown, in Elgin. A Foodbank. Are the people of Moray not embarrassed that a SINGLE Firm, (yet just 8% of the entire Scotch Whisky Industry), can take out HALF A BILLION DOLLARS, from the clearly impoverished area, in just a year? Why ON EARTH do we have a Foodbank here? It's only 18 miles drive, between Dufftown and Elgin. Have you been to Elgin? Have you been to Dufftown? There nothing much paved with Gold! It's a similar story, all over Scotland. If you go to most Scottish Foodbanks, they're usually beside a Distillery, Maturation Shed, Cask Manufacturer or Bottler. When are we having a Scotch Whisky Tourism Strategy and Budget? One that gives back, to the areas of Scotland who make the stuff and doesn’t just take. The Scotch Whisky Association knows it's ridiculous, that why they won't let me tag them, on here! There's an App to tell you where the nearest Foodbank is, there's NOT one to tell you where the nearest Distillery is... Does ANYONE care?
