Component sourcing is a fascinating job. Either Boards level BOM or System level BOM need to source from different vendors from different locations. Let me tell you how we work in RioSH for component sourcing. Once we receive BOM from the client, the RioSH procurement engineer converts it into a RioSH template for proper understanding. The total components will be segregated as the local source and import items. Most of the time team, we try to source from local verified vendors to avoid custom clearance issues. We have a clearly defined procedure to onboard any component supplier as a vendor. The sourcing team has a list of vendors along with their catalogs. The sourcing team will send an RFQ and get the quotation. Once we receive the quotation, will share the PO and get the components. If components need to be imported from abroad, the team will send an RFQ and get the quotation in the dollar ($). Once the shipment is ready, based on weight, will arrange a carrier to ship to India. The team will submit the documents if any are required from the customs department. Once components arrive at RioSH, will do thorough visual verification. If any issues are found with components., immediately inform to vendor and raise the debit note.
