The nature of a question. There's a film called Arrival, about a number of UFOs landing on earth. The film is about aliens at first glance... but it's really about memory, communcation and language. 🤔 What's a question? A request for information that requires a response 🧐 Clarify the object of that question Is it you singular, you plural, company goal, leaders goal etc... 🤨 Purpose of the question Purpose implies intent or motivation, is this then concious choice or instinctive... Or they going on gut? feeling? or has the company got the data? "We need to have enough vocabularly with them to understand their answer" she finally explains... You need to understand the language and terms of your buying personas. Caveat, "ENOUGH" you don't need to know what a node, virtual firewall or exactly how the Dell Isilon H500 NAS works... You need to understand the motivations, pressures and interests. Your questions matter. Clip from the film below. #salesdevelopment #trusttheprocess PS. got bandwidth for 2 remaining coachees if you're looking at improving cold calling, discovery and prospecting.

New article with Jim Sterne in Applied Marketing Analytics journal. In case you want the gist, here's the abstract: This paper explores the integration of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in voice of the customer (VoC) analysis to provide deeper understanding of prospects and customers. GenAI has enormous potential to enhance customer satisfaction, refine products and services and improve the customer experience. This speculative paper illustrates how GenAI can keep pace with increasing customer expectations and the volume of feedback by uncovering nuanced sentiments, trends and customer needs through context comprehension and its conversational query capabilities. The paper explores the power of GenAI in VoC analysis for improving customer satisfaction, accelerating troubleshooting and resolution and upgrading products and services. Additionally, this paper addresses the role of GenAI in advanced communication routing, agent support, multilingual support and sentiment analysis, showcasing its ability to provide comprehensive and context-aware insights. Keywords: generative AI; GenAI; voice of the customer; VoC; customer satisfaction; sentiment analysis; customer feedback analysis

What Makes Us Strong at Thx!? At Thx!, we all have something in common: we love what we do. The passion we put into our work is reflected not only in the results but also in the environment we’ve created. We enjoy every day, we have fun working together, and that’s what makes our energy contagious. Group meetings are key moments for connecting, sharing ideas, and contributing to our collective growth. We all know that each one of us is a fundamental piece of the team. We work with dedication and full awareness, committed to doing our job to the best of our abilities. Trust is essential here. We know we can count on each other, whether it’s to solve a problem or to share a good moment. Humor plays a big role in our dynamic; it helps us relieve tension, strengthen our bonds, and enjoy what we do. Every laugh brings us closer and reminds us that, in addition to being a team, we are a group of people who enjoy being together and who share a bigger purpose. We know our work has a real impact, and we do it with joy because we believe in what we are building—not just for Thx!, but for the people we help. Together, we are stronger 💪🏼

Why the Small Details Matter: Van Halen, M&M’s and a Personal Experience Don’t underestimate the power of the small things. If a presentation features four slides, each with a different font, what other details might be overlooked? Ignoring the basics during a sales process could signal more significant issues, potentially affecting client or organizational trust. In the 1980s, Van Halen's tour contract included a seemingly trivial clause: a bowl of M&M’s with all the brown ones removed. The band would check the bowl before each concert. While the M&M’s themselves weren’t the focus, the clause was a proxy for more crucial requirements, like electrical codes and stage weight limits. If the simple request was ignored, it suggested that the more critical requirements might have been neglected too. The M&M’s weren’t important, but they ensured that the larger, vital details were likely handled correctly. This lesson extends to our professional lives. Small details can significantly impact the overall experience. Think of the small touches at a fine restaurant or hotel that leave a lasting impression. Recently, I had an incredible lunch with a colleague over Venezuelan sushi (a delightful surprise if you haven't tried it yet!). I've had the honor of leading this individual for several years and have learned as much from him as I hope he has from me. Part of our interactions involved assisting with data requests from the US federal government, which included many small but critical details. At lunch, he handed me a card with gratitude, having successfully obtained his green card. The heartfelt thanks he expressed reminded me of the Van Halen story. It underscored in a very meaningful way that even small contributions can play a crucial role in someone’s success. Thank you to my friend for sharing this milestone with me. It’s a privilege to be a small part of your journey, and I deeply appreciate the opportunity. You deserve every success that comes your way. #Leadership #FutureLeaders David Lee Ruth explains the story himself. https://lnkd.in/gtxhyUFY

There is a misconception that " Training and Performance" can't be measured but that is not true! With specific learning objectives, leadership involvement and strong execution training can make a "significant difference"! Think of any sport or profession that continues to grow and excel they do so because they have impactful training, learning, proficiency and development! Too often companies/leadership worry about "product" when working with advisors or field management when they should be focused and "INVESTING IN" that groups KASH- Knowledge, Approach ( Behavior), Skills and Habits! That is what will pay dividends and sustain continued growth ! Training is an INVESTMENT not an expense!
