The 55th Year Celebration of the Los Angeles Chapter of ISACA brought back many memories for me. I have been involved with ISACA (EDPAA) since the mid-80's and have seen its growth and the impact it has made in thousands of lives. ISACA Global is now 180,000 members strong in over 200+ countries. As a young man, EDPAA changed my life. The LA Chapter has had leaders bar none. Our current leaders with Carol Gonzales, Debbie Lew, Thomas Phelps IV, Kelly Lin, Jonathan Chan, Carl Grifka, and so many others I cannot list are outstanding. This picture is one I will always cherish. It is of Eugene Frank, one of the EDPAA founders of 1969, Gary Hill (LA Chapter President 1977-1978), and me during our 50th year anniversay. Without Eugene and the other EDPAA founders, we would not be here today. Gary hired me as a young man, not knowing what I wanted to do with my life, and he gave me the opportunity to become an EDP Auditor. I have never looked back. I have been President of the LA and San Franciso Chapter, taught (and still teaching) CISA review courses for over 30 years, sat on the ISACA International Board for two years, and affected the lives of many.
