Humbled to announce that I will begin my dream career as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) in the U.S. Army this week after graduating from the JAG Officer Basic Course at the University of Virginia. Thank you to those who helped me reach this milestone and believed in me. I am proud to serve our nation while using my law degree. 🇺🇸

Happy to announce that I have graduated from Widener University Commonwealth Law School earning my Juris Doctor degree! I have dreamed of becoming a lawyer ever since I was a little girl. I certainly couldn’t have made it here without the love and support from my family, friends, professors, and mentors. From 1L on zoom to many activities and life changes in between, they cheered me on. As I begin studying for the bar exam, I am feeling so grateful to have their encouragement. This award honors students who best represent a combination of scholarship and leadership, the qualities embodied by the American Law Institute. Karolyn is from Lykens, PA and earned her undergraduate degree from Penn State University. Her favorite class at Widener University Commonwealth Law School was family law with Professor Buchhandler-Raphael. After graduation, she plans to practice military law. In partnership with the Pennsylvania Bar Association and Widener Law Commonwealth Spirit of Service Association, Widener University Commonwealth Law School is proud to host Wills for Heroes on April 15, 2023. This event will be held at the Harrisburg campus. Wills for Heroes is a free and easy service that provides wills, living wills, healthcare and financial powers of attorney to all active and retired first responders, military veterans and their spouses/partners. Volunteers are needed to draft wills. No previous wills and estates experience is needed. This weekend I had the opportunity to compete in the Gabrielli National Family Law Moot Court competition at Albany Law School. This was my second year competing, and, the first year in person! I enjoyed moot court very much as it has helped me with my oral advocacy skills and confidence.
