Step behind the scenes with IMG to discover how we supported The 152nd Open in connecting with fans across the globe. In partnership with The R&A, our IMG and European Tour Productions teams brought world-class broadcasting to life, crafted captivating digital and audio content and provided seamless on-site support. From the fairways to the screens, our work helped to ensure that fans everywhere felt the excitement of The Open, whether they were on the course or watching from halfway around the world.

Welcome to Scotland's West Coast. Obviously the Open is the biggest event of the year. We rely on our partners so heavily to to make it all work. This team, are golf professionals, who are so well versed in producing golf events, not just from a live production perspective, but clearly from our digital content hub and all of our digital production including radio. So the world feed is the R&A's live broadcast which is from the first tee shot to the last putt on each day of the championship Super ISO zone. Is a really important part of the Open Championship there's a huge amount of balls and so we can't do all of those live Hawkeye provide the solution so if someone holes in one at the postage stamp we can retrospectively go back and cut that action and give the best possible coverage just so long as the camera operator follows the ball we've got the shot. For the first time ever at the Open Championship we've got 18 Toprtracer tee cameras, specialist bunker cams a plane cam which is with us for the full tournament. MindFly which is Essentially a wearable vest and what this does is gives us a unique perspective into the players as they play golf and as we kind of get closer to the action, closer to the players. We've managed to be able to get a camera right here so you can see that golf swing. You can experience golf like never before. The postage stamp provides an opportunity for a birdie for the players for sure, but also it's very easy for them to rack up a big numbers and we've got every corner of the green cupboard on the Par 3 channel. I think audiences at home be treated to a real spectacle of golf. This year is our first year where we have produced live at the range remotely. The majority of the team are at Stockley Park. Live in the Range is, trying to bring everyone at home a unique experience. We're trying to go behind the scenes, we're trying to give them wall-to-wall access. You can now broadcast what they're doing in their warm ups and that's when you can really analyze what they're going through, what they're thinking. The R&A Content Hub is providing content for broadcast partners, sponsors, all R&A platforms that newly launched R&A TV. We've seen that the OTT platform that we've launched with Endeavour streaming this year has been really successful. What we've really. brought into the team is understanding of planning, content, execution, best practices across different outlets and channels. We get really privileged access as owners of the Championship and as a producer. I just really want to bring as much as that to the audience as possible and as many ways as possible. So the return of The Claret Jug is a activation for Mercedes where we film for them drone shots and ground car shots and the return of the Claret Jug ceremony and edit all together at a really quick turn around to get it out on various different channels. It goes out on Sky, it goes out on the R&A socials, on all the news outlets and we literally have about two hours to edit it and I've gotta go back very quickly and get it done. So we produced the official radio and audio coverage for the R&A., it's also heard locally on the little radio. Spectators on site can actually listen to coverage while they're watching 1 hole. They can hear all the cheers and roars from around the course which brings it to life. Yeah, on a standard tournament we probably have about 100 people on site that we're responsible for in this compound this week we've got 1300 and our job is to make sure that everyone. And eat, sleep and drink and be happy and healthy at work. It's also making sure that everybody can do their job and also get back home with enough time to rest so that way they can go again the next day. You know, we work with these guys throughout the year on multiple events and we all have a very strong working relationship. The type of people that we create and train at IMG are very friendly, very open, very approachable. I think that's key with client relationships is, is having that approachability. I think the collaboration between us as a team is just super strong. I think there's no. Idea of an individual is bigger than the team. I think we're all just a very close knit group and I think that's the case across IMG. One of the challenges for us is that we only get to do this once a year and that's why we rely so heavily on the partnership with European Tour Productions that IG you know, they're experts that are doing what they do and they're doing it every week. Everyone that European Tour Productions IMG values that relationship, understands that that relationship has to be as strong as possible for for this to work and long may it continue.

NBCUniversal has announced that USA Network’s 24/7 coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics will be available in 4K HDR with Dolby Atmos audio.
