When starting on your journey with generative AI, and looking at all options available, the recommendation provided by IBM technology is to start with a pre-trained model and try to do light customization with your data through a process called tuning. This way you can tailor the model for your specific use cases, while taking advantage of the large general-purpose capabilities that other providers have developed. It is important to update those pre-trained models every couple of months.
