By practicing good movie theater etiquette, you can help create a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone in the theater. Don't put your feet up: Avoid putting your feet up on the seats in front of you, as this can be disrespectful and dirty. Be respectful of others: Be mindful of others around you and their movie-watching experience. Keep your voice down and respect the movie's storyline. Stay seated during the movie: Stay seated during the movie, even if you need to use the restroom or get a drink. If you must leave, do so quickly and quietly. #MovieTheaterEtiquette #RespectfulViewing #QuietPlease #NoTalking #NoPhoneZone #MindfulMoviegoer #ConsiderateCinema #SilentSnacks #DistractionFree #PoliteAudience

Today's decision by New York Governor Kathy Hochul to indefinitely put off implementing congestion pricing has plenty of people in the New York City tri-state area relieved. It would have imposed an added $15 cost on cars entering New York City below 60th Street. One sector that should be pleased about the move is Broadway. The entire theatre district is located within the congestion pricing area. Traditionally, a third of Broadway tickets are sold to residents of the greater New York City region. And not all of those show goers take mass transit to get there. In fact, concerns over late trains or buses, or poor transit options, drive plenty of audience members to get in the car and head to Midtown. It's no secret that Broadway tickets are expensive. So is gas. Drivers have already traveled toll roads to get to the city. And if street parking is unavailable, well, garages can cost $30, $40 and even $50 for an evening. Want to grab dinner? A drink? You're looking at a very costly night out. Broadway ticket sales to buyers in the tri-state have not returned to pre-pandemic levels. An added cost just to get to the theatre was not going to help bring them back. #Broadway #Theatre #NYC

This (post ⬇️) shines a light on a really important aspect of the work of theatres…over 600 people came to Colwyn Bay today to watch the pantomime. The economic multiplier impacts (generated by theatre audiences, casts and technical teams) are huge. According to a SOLT / UK Theatre report in October: A recent study conducted on behalf of SOLT & UK Theatre suggests that the UK theatre sector generates £2.39bn GVA and supports 205,000 workers. This is made up of £1bn of direct turnover in the UK theatre sector, generating £1.3bn worth of turnover in the broader economy. #theatre

A full house at Theatr Colwyn today for Mother Goose, produced by Colwyn Bay’s very own Magic Light Productions. A brilliant show full of local references and humour, incredible costumes and - of course - the exceptional surroundings of the oldest working Theatre in Wales. Behind me there are more than 300 full seats, 300 pairs of feet coming to Colwyn Bay on a Saturday afternoon. So many towns have lost these assets over the last few decades. Times have never been tougher but it’s so important to remember the unique value this theatre brings both to the economy of The Bay and its distinctive identity. You can quite literally feel the magic of the place.
