Last Friday the #HelloFresh co-founded initiative Together for Carbon Labelling hosted a political breakfast in the German parliament to discuss the need for a climate label on food to offer consumers more transparency on the carbon footprint of their products. After a successful event series last year, in which we examined the perspectives of science, business and civil society on this topic, the results were presented at the breakfast and discussed together with Parliamentary State Secretary Dr. Ophelia Nick of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture and Tanja Asmussen, Team Leader Food & Agriculture, Danish Embassy in Berlin. The guests talked about the challenges and opportunities there are on the way to environmental labelling in Germany and the #EU and what measures are necessary to successfully shape the transformation to a sustainable food system. HelloFresh joined forces with other food companies like Oatly, FRoSTA AG, Veganz Group AG, erdbär GmbH and Klasmann-Deilmann in collaboration with scientists and is advocating for the introduction of a carbon label to offer consumers full visibility on the footprint of their food choices. We are looking forward to continuing collaborating with German and EU policymakers and learning from other European countries like Denmark who are already working on implementing a climate label. Thanks for the opportunity to tell about the 🇩🇰Danish environmental plans to reduce our co2 footprint within food 🌱. A climate label is a guideline for consumers, but also an important motivator for foodproducers to become more sustainable 🌍. The Trade Council of Denmark in Germany

Love this! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
