It's a Big Day when U.S. News & World Report releases its annual Best Places to Live rankings and stories. That happened today, and you can find our 25 Best Places to Live and Best Affordable Places to Live slideshows. This year, we moved to city data instead of metro area data, which further localizes our rankings and allows readers to consider factors that reflect the livability and overall experiences of a given place. It caused quite a bit of reshuffling in the rankings, so check it out. Fun fact: OKC and Huntsville were in a dead heat in the Best Places popularity contest. They're the only two places in the top 25 on all 3 big lists: Best Places to Live, Best Affordable Places to Live and Fastest-Growing Places to Live. Huntsville wins the tiebreaker with its No. 50 spot on the Best Places to Retire ranking (OKC is No. 109). They may not have been on your radar, but you may want to give them a look. Also notable: *There are eight places in the top 25 on both Best Places and Affordable lists. *Five places are in the top 25 on Best Places and Fastest-Growing. *One place (Brownsville, Texas) makes the top 25 on Most Affordable and Fastest-Growing.

Research released late last year by the Pew Research Center found that in U.S. households with children under 18, working husbands enjoy roughly three more hours of leisure time per week than working wives do. Can you identify with this finding? As a mom of two and entrepreneur, I do not. Here's why: Our busy family has a strong vision and strategy for our lives together. And yes, that existed even before my husband retired as active duty Air Force One pilot - meaning he was gone A LOT. The beauty in having a family identity and vision is… 🎭 We unlock more joy and connection by planning leisure activities all four of us enjoy together. 🤸♀️ We've done the hard work of building awareness of ourselves and one another, so we can encourage and support each other in the leisure activities we personally enjoy. 💯 We don't keep score, meaning our leisure time does not need to be spread equally each week. I can support my husband when he needs a longer break on any given week, and he does the same for me. A strong vision and strategy for your family unlocks more interdependence, joy, and connection.
