In a post earlier I referred to the Core Values that we (Suicide Attempt Survivors Task Force, Action Alliance) put into The Way Forward. I thought it might help to share this table from the document as it lists all the values and places them in context with Recovery Principles and concepts in the 2012 National Strategy for Suicide Prevention. While you won't explicitly find a reference to the "Core Values" in the 2024 National Strategy, we wove them in when possible. For example, under Goal 8 (Suicide prevention as a core part of health care), the "Perspectives from Lived Experience" and "Collaborative Person-Centered Care" directly reflect the Core Values. #livedexperience #NSSP #nationalstrategy #suicideprevention #mentalhealth #recovery
