The Perioperative Support Services Team recently held its second annual picnic to celebrate work relationships. 🧺 The picnic served as a thank you to the Operating Room Assisting Personnel (ORAP) in Hartford Hospital's main OR, PAAs, OR techs and patient transport teams who are all committed to patient care and colleague support! 🙏

Shoutout to Sarah Cruz and Leah Goldberg, who were recognized as emerging leaders in their professions! 👏 Sarah B. Cruz, AS, CSPDT, CRCST, CHL, CIS, a Central Sterile Education Program Development Coordinator in the Bone & Joint Institute was named to the Inaugural Healthcare Purchasing News 40 Under 40 list of professionals in supply chain, sterile processing, infection prevention and more. Leah Goldberg, an operating room nurse in the Bone & Joint Institute was named to the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) Emerging periOp Leaders Under 40 list! Congrats, Leah and Sarah, for being recognized for your hard work and incredible achievements! 🎉

The Best in the Nation for Cardiovascular Care! ❤️ Hartford HealthCare represented very well at the Connecticut American Heart Association Heart Walk in Downtown Hartford. Over 60 colleagues from the Heart & Vascular Institute, Behavioral Health Network, Philanthropy Department, The Administrative Fellowship, and so many more assembled together to walk 3 miles throughout Bushnell Park, in the effort of raising awareness about Heart Disease. The Heart & Vascular Institute offered free blood pressure screenings at the park, and provided information and resources to the public regarding ways they can maximize their cardiovascular health! We are particularly proud to recognize our President & CEO, Jeffrey Flaks - who is the Centennial Chair of the Greater Hartford Walk. It was great seeing our friends Dennis House, Kara Sundlun, Hartford Yard Goats Baseball, and other members of our communities to come together and promote heart health.
