In creating the Bloomsburg Area YMCA - Community Resource Hub, our team has created five distinct goals that we aim towards every single day so that we can best serve ALL of Columbia and Mountour County residents. The official unveiling of the CRH is coming soon, but in the meantime, our team is preparing by doing all we can to best understand the resources available. GOALS: 1. Create a Community Hub that is designed to meet the everchanging needs of the community and provide safe, confidential services that strengthen family life and individual growth. 2. Serve more people through programs and services that fulfill community needs by being the premier provider of community programming. 3. Provide more Y-based counseling and services for children and adults in schools, homes and the community. 4. Foster connections between the YMCA and the Community by becoming a preferred community partner. 5. Broaden the ability to serve a larger audience by providing the resources needed in the community.

Here is a solution.
Three Years - got it done! I am so proud to serve on a Colorado Department of Education facility school workgroup. For the last three years we met monthly to set up new legislation, funding, and an entirely new school category for our wonderful community. Such an incredible group of leaders that volunteered many hours to make this possible. We celebrated together last week at the Daniels Fund. Specialty Schools are now a thing with SB- 23219! So many more opportunities for our community, and for TACT - Teaching the Autism Community Trades. This road didn't exist before, but it was needed, so we built it. Very grateful to be part of the team!

🧠Late Night thoughts of a #ChildWelfare Director 📝 I have been a long time supporter of #CommunityPartnershipSchools because of the strong work of CHS Florida and Andry Sweet!! As we are thinking about upstream prevention, I wonder the business case and a case study where this model is implemented at a school that averages high number of abuse calls and/or removals and over time see if there is a reduction in intakes to truly building the momentum for moving from #MandatedReporters to #MandatedSupporters.
Thanks to Gary Michaels for spotlighting the positive impact of Community Partnership Schools in Pensacola.💙💛 "The Community Partnership Schools model is a long-term solution to many of the challenges that face our communities – especially those struggling to afford basic needs and those on the precipice of crisis. And it is proven to work, proven to follow high standards of evidence-based practice to combat learning barriers that have challenged children and communities for decades." Exciting updates on the Obama Presidential Center!
After years spent hearing directly from our Chicago neighbors and over 20 community organizations, we’re excited to share that we've started construction on our Home Court at the Obama Presidential Center! Sitting on the southwest corner of the 19.3-acre campus in Jackson Park, the athletic, programs, and events facility will be a 45,000 sq ft space inspired by two of President Obama’s personal passions – basketball and building community. We’re looking forward to hosting adult and youth programming, events, and more.

In the background, Adeel Imtiaz sir highlights the importance of the Revised Bloom's Taxonomy graph, which illustrates how learning occurs in our brain. His YouTube channel is renowned for empowering the education system with science-based techniques. I previously mentioned this graph briefly, but it’s worth delving deeper into its significance. The Revised Bloom's Taxonomy emphasizes a hierarchy of cognitive skills that are essential for effective learning and critical thinking. This model moves beyond mere memorization, encouraging learners to engage in higher-order thinking skills such as analyzing, evaluating, and creating. By comparing and contrasting information, our brains are better able to retain and comprehend complex concepts. Unfortunately, Pakistan's education system predominantly focuses on the first three levels of thinking—remembering, understanding, and applying. While these foundational skills are important, there is a crucial need to also nurture higher-order thinking skills to truly enhance students' intellectual growth and critical thinking abilities. Integrating the principles of the Revised Bloom's Taxonomy can transform our approach to education. By fostering an environment where students are encouraged to analyze, evaluate, and create, we can significantly improve their retention and deepen their understanding of the subject matter. This shift not only equips students with the ability to think critically but also prepares them for the complexities of real-world problem-solving.

🌟 Proud Moment Alhamdolillah 🌟 Yesterday, I had the honor of presenting our school's uplift program to the community. As a former student, I feel incredibly lucky to be involved in giving back to the institution that shaped me. It's a full-circle moment to contribute to the betterment of my own school, ensuring it continues to thrive and inspire future generations.
