Excited to share that Greece is acquiring 20 F-35s from Lockheed Martin, strengthening our international partnership and bolstering NATO's defense capabilities. The F-35 is quickly becoming the go-to fighter for NATO, offering unmatched interoperability with allied forces.   By the 2030s, over 600 F-35s will be in operation across more than 10 European nations, ensuring strategic superiority and enhanced security. The F-35 is vital in deterring threats and ensuring regional stability, safeguarding allied airspace. As we face evolving challenges, the F-35's connectivity and advanced capabilities will be pivotal in the 21st Century Security® landscape. Together with Greece, we are securing a safer future.

Greece can't afford to buy a Cessna 172. How do they expect to buy 20 F-35s? U.S. tax payer is how. Happy that LMCO will have the business though.

By the time we get the F16 flying in Ukraine they will need the F35. Why don't we give them some old F15s?

Congratulations. It's a brilliant a investment for Greece and it's latest military partner, Saudi Arabia.

This is magnificent, this will boost their economy along with generating a better standing within protection levels .

How can they afford 20 F35's? Aren't they broke? In that case I want a VTOL one for a daily driver

Thanks for share! Greece has no choice but to procure the best aircraft on the planet when an aggressive neighbour and NATO ally buys the state-of-the-art Russian S400 air defence system. Note that in 2019 Turkey was kicked out of the F35 program precisely because of this procurement. As for Greece ability to pay for the F35, its economy is forecast to grow nearly 3% this year, approaching its pre-crisis size of 2009 and far outpacing the euro zone average of 0.8%.
