It is a long process to publish a #scientific #paper in high-impact peer-review journals. It often takes between 13 to 24 months from the moment that you start writing the paper up to the moment that the paper is published. This is for those who receive comments from the reviewers and have the opportunity to improve the paper. Otherwise, your work is rejected and you need to start again and restructure your paper. It is fundamental for researchers to publish their works. It is the way that you consolidate your understanding of a specific subject and share your knowledge with the scientific community! Initiating 2024 with such a comprehensive review of existing #physical and #numerical #modeling techniques of the #wake of horizontal axis #windturbines. The paper is available here: https://lnkd.in/dx4FZNHm Congratulations Mojtaba Maali Amiri for leading the work. The paper has been published in the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Review of Elsevier. I would like to share with you our recent paper published in the Journal of the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews entitled: "A review of physical and numerical modeling techniques for horizontal-axis wind turbine wakes." In this paper, we investigate the recent progress in the most common existing physical and numerical modeling techniques for horizontal-axis wind turbine wakes. The techniques addressed here range from high-fidelity CFD and physical testing approaches to low-fidelity analytical models. In addition to describing the physical basis, formulations, fundamental assumptions, and limitations, this study provides a discussion of the usefulness of each modeling technique and possible further research on challenges in modeling wind turbine wakes that have not yet been adequately addressed. The following video presents the project for the creation of a new concept of photovoltaic systems based on the union of the idea of the MICROGRID with MICROINVERTER applied in a domestic environment. In order to achieve the objective, a prototype photovoltaic system was created to carry out trials and development tests. Our team has released new measurements and analysis of high hydrogen turbulent flame speeds, contributing to the largest public domain database for H2 blends up to 92% and pressures up to 20 bar. These measurements are directed towards the single largest practical issue associated with fielding high hydrogen energy systems- flashback of premixed combustion systems
We are excited to share that our team has released new measurements and analysis of high hydrogen turbulent flame speeds, contributing to one of the largest public domain databases in the literature for H2 blends up to 92% and pressures up to 20 bar, across a range of equivalence ratios. Our publication is now available in the ASME Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines and Power. We’re thrilled about the potential impact of this research on advancing hydrogen-based energy systems for a decarbonized energy economy. A special thanks to my coauthors Renee Cole, Ben Emerson, David Wu for their invaluable contributions, and to my advisor Tim Lieuwen for his guidance and support throughout this work. Check it out! https://lnkd.in/gecdMcS3

I am delighted to share my most recent publication, an energetic and exergetic performance analysis on A Hybrid Energy System Based on Externally Fired Micro Gas Turbines, Waste Heat Recovery and Gasification Systems. The aim of this paper is to analyze several possible novel layouts of hybrid energy systems, in which the main thermal source is the organic fraction of municipal solid wastes of a small community of about 1000 persons. https://lnkd.in/dTWg_vWq Patrizio Massoli CNR-STEMS Energies MDPI

How can numerical modeling approach the ideal cooling loop conditions for floating photovoltaic (FPV) panels? I would like to share my latest article from last year's conference in Glasgow. The article presents a numerical model that I developed for the cooling loop system of FPV panels. This model includes radiation absorption, natural convection, heat conduction, and electrical power generation, which helps to understand and optimise the thermal performance of the system. Several tests were conducted to demonstrate the significance of each cooling element, ensuring the circulation of coolant due to buoyancy forces. The full article is now available online in the Springer Proceedings in Energy. https://lnkd.in/ecv8GM6g I would like to express my gratitude to my supervisor, Hector Iacovides, Adel Nasser, Andrea Cioncolini, and Imran Afgan for their valuable guidance during the publication process.

https://lnkd.in/eacMvvcW The model is to use electricity from solar power to break up H2O molecules and make H2, hydrogen; then combine H2 with a carbon atom, pulled from CO2 in the air, to make CH4: natural gas. This can then be sold into the existing natural-gas pipeline infrastructure, stored in existing natural-gas storage, and bought by existing natural-gas users, including power plants that run at night. Burning this natural gas releases the CO2 that was pulled from the air during production, so the cycle is carbon-neutral. I think this idea has a ton of potential. There's a cool video here where Casey Handmer walks us through the science and the engineering prototypes https://lnkd.in/eQiRikzG
