Extending a huge thank you to Vanguard for hosting the 2024 SIP Graduation as our Scholars presented their capstone projects, commemorating four weeks of hard work! This invigorating day featured speeches from members of the 2024 SIP Cohort and an inspiring panel of Vanguard investment leaders, including Rachel Baxter, CFA, Co-Head US Bond Index, Yan Pu, Principal, Global Head of Foreign Exchange, and Sharon Hill, Head of Alpha Equity! We’re so grateful for our continued partnership with Vanguard and would like to shout out the over 100+ volunteers for supporting the GWI Community!

In celebration of #PRIDE month, our 2024 SIP Scholars joined Beyond the Bell Tours 🔔 for a special walkthrough spotlighting the stories of LGBTQ+ individuals who make up the culture and history of Philadelphia. While the GWI SIP programming is centered around key skills training, we’re happy that our Scholars had the opportunity to learn more about the local community that they’ve called home the past four weeks, instilling GWI’s core value of community. We couldn’t have been more honored to commemorate PRIDE month through hearing more about the individuals that paved a path forward for greater equity and inclusion in one of GWI’s local communities!

Last but certainly not least in our capstone project series is Five Below! Thank you to Christiane Pelz Alpher, VP, Investor Relations & Treasury, for joining our 2024 SIP Cohort on campus for such an educational and exciting session! GWI Community, please join us in wishing our SIP Scholars the best of luck on their final capstone presentations this week! SIP Scholars, in the wise words of Five Below, before you set off on the internship portion of the program, “Let Go & Have Fun” and soak up the last few days on campus!

Last week, in observance of Juneteenth, our GWI Black Alumni Affinity Group members, Jessica Franklin, Adalix Siri and Andrea Webb, led a virtual session with our 2024 SIP Scholars to reflect on the inequalities faced by the Black diaspora and discuss how we can move forward to create actionable change. Thank you to our GWI Community for the continued commitment to listening and empowering the voices of those around us, including on this impactful day.

The 2024 SIP Cohort had the honor of learning all about the Tractor Supply Company last week from Mary Winn Pilkington, Senior Vice President - Investor Relations and Public Relations! Joining us on campus for an engaging session, we’re extending our appreciation to Mary Winn and the entire Tractor Supply team for being a part of our Scholars’ journeys this summer as one of our capstone companies. We can’t wait to see our future changemakers’ final project presentations!
