A new nationwide study conducted by GW researchers and The International Council on Clean Transportation and funded by NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration shows that people living in communities next to large e-commerce warehouses are exposed to 20% more of nitrogen dioxide (NO2), a traffic-related air pollutant, that can lead to asthma and other life-threatening health conditions. The study also finds that communities of color are often located near these warehouses and therefore disproportionately exposed to NO2 and other pollutants.
