#AI has the potential to be the next major paradigm shift in Life Science research. We agree with Sanofi that it needs the right controls to ensure that unfair and unscientific biases don't creep into models.
🔍 Data governance at all stages, from early R&D through Clinical, will play a significant role in ensuring this.

There is a lot of rhetoric around clinical trial diversity in the industry, but why should we care and what does it mean anyway. This video is a great explanation but lets boil it down further.
Clinical trials are like cooking experiments. Scientists try out new ingredients (treatments) to make a special dish (better healthcare). But if they only use one type of person (like always using salt), they won’t know if the dish works for everyone. So, they need a mix of people to taste-test and make sure it’s delicious for everyone! Remember your DNA is unique so that is pretty important if you want a dish which really hit's the spot for you.
If only one group tastes the dish, it’s not fair. Imagine if only adults tasted a new candy—kids might miss out and when they do taste it then they might not like say an aniseed vodka flavour candy! Similarly, diverse clinical trial participants ensure fairness and help find the best recipe for everyone.
When chefs (researchers) include everyone, or certainly more people, in taste tests, people trust their cooking skills. So, diverse trials build trust in the results. It’s like saying, “This cake is yummy because kids, adults, and grandparents all loved it!”
Remember, clinical trial diversity is like seasoning—essential for a tasty, fair, and trusted outcome!

Prompt engineering — the process of designing the questions and instructions that drive GenAI responses — is crucial.
A well-designed prompt enables the AI to deliver insights that are accurate, compassionate, and highly relevant to the individual’s situation.
On the other hand, poorly designed prompts can lead to misunderstandings, creating a gap in the trust that’s so essential in healthcare.

The potential for AI to help people multiply their impact isn’t on the horizon, it’s here.
A big thanks to our teams led by Gail Horwood, our Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer, for hosting an inspiring day at our Novartis US headquarters – Artificial Intelligence Day of Learning (AIX) – to spark our curiosity of what is and could be possible through AI.
I truly enjoyed being able to spend time with colleagues hearing from leading AI experts and getting to engage with various companies making tremendous headway with AI.
One thing is clear, never before has a technology – AI – been more primed for use and to succeed for humanity. I can’t wait to see how we can harness the benefits of AI to power our mission and purpose as we #reimaginemedicinetogether.

📈 The greatest area of AI growth in companies is in medical technology, despite market focus on more AI-solutions companies and their race to build the next frontier of AI models.
Using Zeki data, we identified four small health companies (Aural Analytics, Caspar.AI, Clear Guide Medical and ThinkSono) with high proportions of Zeki Innovators and credible Innovation scores.
Those with Innovation scores above zero are conducting groundbreaking research, with scores closest to one indicating the most innovative work.
