March 20th is the United Nations International Day of Happiness. 😃 HAPPIER TOGETHER At this time of uncertainty and conflict, this year’s ‘Happier Together’ theme reminds us that lasting happiness comes from feeling connected to others and being part of something bigger. ☮️ The General Assembly of the United Nations on July 12, 2012 proclaimed today the International Day of Happiness, recognizing the relevance of happiness and well-being as universal goals and aspirations in the lives of human beings around the world and the importance of their recognition in public policy objectives. 🌎 Begun in 2014 by UNESCO Bangkok, the Happy Schools Project offers an alternative approach to improving learning experiences by prioritizing school happiness. On behalf of the UNESCO-MIL ALLIANCE – APAC REGIONAL COMMITTEE, I would like to place before you a project proposal on GLOBAL HAPPINESS MANIFESTATION for the Media and Information Literacy Week 2023. Media literacy is actually an interdisciplinary course including of many human sciences which empowers the audiences to understand and recognize people’s thoughts and intentions. Human beings are the social creatures who need to communicate with each other and if the communications get functional and rational basis, it will lead the communities to a well-based Sustainable Development that HAPPINESS is one of its main components. Talking about the HAPPINESS raises some questions in the mind as follows: How do we interpret the issue of HAPPINESS? What are the components of HAPPINESS? Envisioning such a happy society promises a new generation equipped with the sense of peace, freedom and justice.  Therefore, the Asia-Pacific MIL committee intends to hold a regional festival in happiness titled: Global Happiness Project: Know, Accept, and Act For the Media Literacy week this year, the target group includes students and all individuals of the society will participate in three events/activities on the theme of HAPPINESS: i.                  Photography Competition ii.                Short Film (not more than one-minute) iii.              Literary writing – essay, poem, posters, skits All individuals are invited to submit their HAPPINESS files to: unesco-mil-apac.com We start receiving your files up to the end of Nov. 20

Just finished my 2d season teaching a seminar on “Surprising Psychology of Meaningful Work” at Chautauqua Institution (CHQ.org). Class participants ranged from those in college, to mid-career, to nearly/semi/fullyretired— engineers, lawyers, clergy, I.T. geeks. The Carnival in Dominica stands as one of the island's grandest celebrations, deeply embedded in its cultural fabric.
