Recently, the Del Monte Japan team held a banana learning experience event during an FC Tokyo soccer game at Japan's national stadium. More than 400 kids and parents took a brief quiz related to bananas, harvested bananas from their bunches, and created their own consumer pack with a specially designed label to take home.    We love bringing enjoyment to families through healthy foods and teaching kids about fruits through activities.

Congratulations to our team in Europe, who won an award for "Best New Entry in the Frozen category" for the new range of frozen fruit pieces. This year marked the 25th edition of the prestigious Brand Awards, an award dedicated to the best performances of consumer products on the Italian market.

We recently opened a new forest nursery in Sarapiquí, Costa Rica as part of our efforts to promote reforestation in the country. The trees grown here will later be donated to neighboring lands, with a goal of 10,000 per year.    The first donations took place last month, where 115 trees were donated to the private owner Jessica Quesada, 200 to the Committee of Environment and Tourism Projection of Agua Zarcas and 5 to the Zapote school, an educational center in the area.    The nursery is dedicated to the reproduction of native species whose seeds are collected in the company's wooded areas. Among the 27 species of trees that are produced in this nursery are the Bitter Cedar, Carao, Yellow Bark, Mountain Almond, Jabillo, Chinese Mamón, Loquat, among others.    Learn more: https://lnkd.in/e8rMjq3s

We’re honored to receive our third SEAL Award, this time in the Business Sustainability category for our JUNTOS project.    The JUNTOS project, which we are conducting in partnership with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, focuses on landscape restoration, water conservation, and sustainable development of communities in need while providing education about sustainable land development for areas surrounding our banana and pineapple operations in Costa Rica and Guatemala.   Through the project, we’ve successfully restored more than 345 hectares of land, proposed more than 400 hectares for private wildlife refuges, set aside more than 10,000 hectares of land for biodiversity conservation, and created five alliances to educate local communities on the importance of these topics.    Congratulations to our team members who have worked tirelessly on this project since its inception in 2021!

As a global leader in pineapple innovation, we’re taking #InternationalPineappleDay on Thursday seriously. We surveyed 3,000 Americans about their love for pineapples. The survey results revealed that pineapples are among America's favorite fruits thanks to the fruit's taste. This year’s #WorldFoodSafetyDay theme is prepare for the unexpected. At Fresh Del Monte, we take a proactive, rigorous, and disciplined approach to food safety that includes constant monitoring and management of our food safety programs and enhanced on-site assessments with our growers, co-packers, and operations.   As a global grower, packer, and shipper of perishable products, food safety is imperative to our business. We were honored to win the 2023 Food Quality & Safety Award for our dedication to food safety and quality. None of this would be possible without the commitment and expertise of our entire food safety team. While we appreciate their efforts day in and day out, we’d like to publicly thank them today for all that they do to uphold our products’ quality and safety.
