The world of trademarking can be a strange and unpredictable place, with individuals and companies attempting to trademark everything from common words to unique ideas. In this particular case, we have four items that are particularly unique, each vying for the coveted trademark status. Can you guess which ones were successful? If you guessed all of them, you're correct! Here are just a few examples of these trademarks. Taylor Swift trademarked lyrics from her songs such as, “this sick beat”, “Nice to meet you, where you been?” as well as other utterances from her albums. Usain Bolt successfully trademarked his famous lightning bolt victory pose of one arm bent and pointing to his head with the other arm raised pointing upward. What show is this sound from: “Dun Dun”? If you guessed Law & Order, you are right. NBCUniversal Media owns the trademark to this identifiable sound from the show. Paris Hilton famously coined the phrase "That's hot!" and was not pleased when Hallmark used the phrase on a greeting card. She sued the company for using her intellectual property, demonstrating her commitment to maintaining ownership of her catchphrase. These examples demonstrate that many things are possible in the world of trademarking. #trademarklaw #trademark #trademarkattorney #businesstrademark #logo #TrademarkRegistration #protectyourbusiness #intellectualproperty #attorneyatlaw #businessattorney #businessowner

📽️ Everyone knows the most iconic of childhood characters - Mickey Mouse! His journey began in 1928 with his debut in "Steamboat Willie". Interestingly, The Walt Disney Company took a dual approach to protect #Mickey by both copyrighting and trademarking him 🐭 Now, with the copyright expiring in 2024, Mickey Mouse has entered the public domain, sparking widespread use of this beloved character. When consumers see Mickey on a product, they might assume it’s Disney-approved. 👀 So, what can be done? #Disney's best bet is to combat counterfeiters by leveraging its trade mark rights. They can demonstrate the mark's similarity, significance, and strength, along with the #counterfeiters' intent behind using it. We eagerly await to see how Disney navigates this challenge ⛴️ What's the takeaway from this situation? Always align your business strategy with the long-term impact of your decisions. Contact us today to help secure your iconic mark! ✨ #Basck #TrademarkProtection #BusinessStrategy #BrandSecurity #IntellectualProperty

For some time I have believed that if Universal could successfully flex its muscles in leveraging its growing IP catalog (likely leveraging more of their animated titles) to expand its park offerings while ALSO closing the quality gap at the parks via Universal Creative, they could truly compete against Disney Parks. With Epic Universe coming next year, we are finally in that era. It's Disney’s business to loose and all upside for Universal. 2025 is going to be very, very interesting. Some really great analysis here via the The Wall Street Journal. #themeparkwars #epicuniverse

Consider centralization (Monitoring)Prime Contractors especially, Kansas City Missouri, JE Dunn, Turner Construction, McCown Gordon. Difficulty in accessing procurement opportunities, restrictive bid specifications, excessive experience requirements, and overly burdensome insurance and/or bonding requirements, for example, might be addressed by KCMO without resorting to the use of race or gender in its decision-making. Effective remedies include unbundling of contracts into smaller units, providing technical support, and developing programs to address issues of financing, bonding, and insurance important to all small and emerging businesses.77 Further, governments have a duty to ferret out and punish discrimination against minorities and women by their contractors, staff.
The Justice Department, along with 30 state and district attorneys general, filed a civil antitrust lawsuit against Live Nation Entertainment Inc. and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Ticketmaster LLC for monopolization and other unlawful conduct that thwarts competition in markets across the live entertainment industry. The lawsuit, which includes a request for structural relief, seeks to restore competition in the live concert industry, provide better choices at lower prices for fans, and open venue doors for working musicians and other performance artists. This question came to me the other day, and it took me a while to figure out the right way to answer it on this blog. The first thing I needed to do was write a title for this article, and that was one of the hardest parts! Here are some of the other ones I thought of: - Why does a bar owner pay more to show baseball than a person at home? - Why can't you stream movies at at bar or restaurant? #commercial #directv #satellite #streaming
What's the difference between having a watch party at home and having a watch party in a bar? - The Solid Signal Blog
