What is the point of having summer days at the company? I just participated in another unforgettable event organized by Bigbank, and I feel genuinely happy and grateful for having such a great employer and awesome colleagues. Creating such a positive feeling is obviously a good reason to have summer days. But there can be more! Things to consider when organizing the event: ↪ Team building and cooperation If your main goal is to improve cooperation between employees and focus on team building, it’s best to have the summer days without families. Activities should be team-focused, and it might be beneficial to rearrange teams between activities to encourage collaboration among different groups. ↪ Socializing and fun If your goal is to enable employees to get to know each other better and just have fun, you should consider a variety of activities and allow families to participate. ↪ Maximizing attendance To maximize attendance, schedule the summer days during the workweek. If this is not possible, consider allowing families to attend and providing attractive activities for everyone. Would you add anything else?

Why It Matters
So thrilled to welcome our 2024 MaineHealth and MaineHealth Institute for Research summer interns yesterday at our orientation at MaineHealth corporate headquarters in Portland! We had an incredible day with leaders Scott Ballard, Douglas Sawyer, and Kelly Elkins who shared more about our health system and how our intern's work in their respective departments will positively impact our health system and the communities we serve. Between both groups we have 75 interns from 40 departments across the system this summer–what an engaged group of young professionals who will be helping to make a difference at MaineHealth with their skills and expertise–looking forward to seeing them shine this summer! Special thanks to our speakers along with Liz Bergst, Christine Ellis, Ungara Farris, Joe Baty, Jonathan Delorme, Daphne Backman, Hailey Davis, Justin Marston and others who helped make the day possible.

🌍 Exploring New Horizons with the GlobetrottHR Program 🌍 As part of our commitment to professional growth and cultural exchange, Melanie Löscher, a Social Media Recruiter in our German Recruiting Team, recently participated in the GlobetrottHR program, traveling from Munich to Wakefield (Boston), USA. Melly embraced this opportunity to step out of her comfort zone, connect with colleagues in a different country, and gain insights into a new working culture. "The chance to connect with my colleagues in the US and learn from their daily operations was invaluable. Hosting a Connect-Up Call on mental health with my colleague Keira Campbell, engaging in job shadowing with the whole US team, the warm welcome in the office and a basketball game at TD garden were truly memorable moments.", Melly says. The program has not only enriched Melly’s professional skills but also contributed to her personal growth. "Working in a different time zone and adapting to new environments taught me so much. It was challenging, but I found strength in creating new routines and prioritizing self-care through activities like yoga and journaling." Despite initial challenges – navigating a new city, adjusting to different time zones, and building new routines – Melly's resilience and adaptability shone through.
