A recent ruling from the Northern District of Texas has blocked the Federal Trade Commission from enforcing its rule banning noncompete agreements against the plaintiffs in Ryan LLC v. Federal Trade Commission. Although the preliminary injunction applies only to the plaintiffs in the Ryan action, the court’s order signals a tough road ahead for the FTC’s Rule on a nationwide scale.
