We are coming to the end of the days when satellite configurations were static from launch to disposal. We can start thinking of satellites not just for the payloads they were launched with, but as mini-space stations that carry other payloads.
We're gearing up to fly our first mission in #space. When we do, we'll be the first company to upgrade a legacy satellite using #robotics with a new capability post-launch. I'm looking for a Senior Space Systems Engineer to help make that happen. If you’re someone who thrives from seeing projects through from design conception to operations, working across the entire engineering V, and tackling ambiguous problems head-on, this might be the perfect fit for you. We need someone with experience working on satellite systems and who has had direct involvement in flight programs...A mentor and a doer—someone who enjoys diving into the technical details. Sound interesting? Take a look at the job req in the comments below. feel free to DM me or Sarah Bradley for more info.

We're building the infrastructure of tomorrow - 𝒕𝒐𝒅𝒂𝒚. Similar to SpaceX pre-Falcon 9 rocket, we're advancing towards a revolutionizing tunnel boring machine (TBM) that will change the way humans travel. This is already happening in Las Vegas - during typical peak hours, driving from the Las Vegas Convention Center to Allegiant Stadium can take up to 30 minutes. The same trip on the Vegas Loop will take approximately 4. With Prufrock 4 starting testing, and PR5+6 coming soon, we're getting closer and closer to our "Falcon 9". We've got some key openings to fill along the way though - here's what's top of mind for me. Let me know if you or someone you know is interested :) -------------------------------------------------------------- (𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫 - 𝑨𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏, 𝑻𝑿) - novel, cutting edge engineering https://lnkd.in/gATBVC9U (𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫 - 𝑳𝒂𝒔 𝑽𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒔) - build autonomous cars underground https://lnkd.in/gN9b7KmB Who's ready to "𝘥𝘪𝘨" in? Open invite: Garrett William’s MS Thesis Defense, on August 30th from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm (EST), virtually. Garrett has been an integral member of the MAVRC (Machine, Artificial Intelligence & Virtual Reality Center) for several years, and he will be presenting his culminating research in "Generating Real-Time Synthetic Datasets to Improve Aerial Object Detection. M.S. Thesis Defense - Garrett Williams Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Advisor: Dr. George Lecakes Generating Real-Time Synthetic Datasets to Improve Aerial Object Detection Friday, August 30, 2024 12:00 – 2:00 PM ECE Conference Room, Engineering Hall Webex Meeting Link: https://lnkd.in/eystTi6i Abstract The widespread use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) across civilian and military applications has necessitated the advancement of real-time drone detection and tracking capabilities. Machine Learning (ML) can address all of these requirements, however, to train a robust and generalizable model requires large and diverse video datasets. These real-world datasets require human curation, which can be time-consuming, and cost-prohibitive to generate. Here, we present DyViR, a real-time customizable rendering application capable of automatically generating highly realistic synthetic, multi-modal video of aerial objects, digital environments, and automatic generation and labeling of bounding boxes. Synthetic data when coupled with real-world training sets augment the ML training process leading to increased performance and detection accuracy. DyViR is designed to enable non-technical users to generate datasets containing 44 different aerial objects, 5 flight patterns, and 11 environments. To verify the benefits of using synthetic data to augment existing real-world datasets, the YOLOv7-tiny model was employed to evaluate a fully real-world dataset and one augmented with synthetically generated data from DyViR, leading to a 60.4% mean average precision increase. This research demonstrates the potential of synthetic datasets, especially when it would be impossible or cost-prohibitive to obtain, paving the way for broader applications where data acquisition poses significant challenges. Bio: Garrett Williams (B.S. ECE ‘22) is a Research Engineer at Rowan University’s Machine and Artificial Intelligence Virtual Reality Center (MAVRC).

Who's on my contact list with access to OpenAI's SORA? I need urgently the video for the open day of #mechanicalengineering at Tel Aviv University Please help to get our message through: #mechanicalengineering is amazing :) Some videos are quite lunatic, but those that got published are probably selected well. I think of the following prompt "Female mechanical engineer who just accomplished the great project of autonomous Mars rover watching it performing the remote operation of cleaning Mars dunes from Earth-made microplastics"
