CFMS is developing COSDAC, a dedicated space data centre in collaboration with UK Space Agency. COSDAC aims to refine large-scale space data centre concepts and assess demand across the space sector, including commercial, scientific, and exploration applications. As a pioneering step, COSDAC will offer advanced data-centred enabled capabilities for robotics, autonomy, and AI missions. Our goal is to support industry and institutional stakeholders with secure and independent research assets. Cutting-edge technology in action! A few days ago I came across a video by Florian Seibel in which he shows what a vertical take-off operation looks like from a boat. More specifically, it's the eVTOL Twister from Quantum Systems. For those who don't know yet: Twister is rucksack portable and delivers real-time, high-resolution video to the frontline for short-range intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions. With its embedded AI computing, it not only equips the operator with situational awareness via live video, but it also supports decision-making with on-screen object detection, tracking, classification and identification, as well as target recognition, even in GNSS-denied environments. An absolute complete package! But with only two control surfaces on this eVTOL, nothing should be left to chance. We are all the happier that we were able to equip the Twister with our well proven, highly reliable and brushless servo, the DA 15-N. Particularly impressive in the video: Twister's smooth, vertical landing flight back into Florian's hands. In the incredibly beautiful Bavarian countryside, the whole thing seems almost romantic 😀
