Exposure to paraquat has been linked to severe respiratory problems, organ damage, and extensive environmental harm. Families have faced persistent breathing troubles, and in some cases, thousands of trees were killed due to improper paraquat use. Violations often include inadequate protective gear for applicators, failure to notify about applications, and improper storage of the chemical. The misuse of paraquat poses serious, long-lasting risks. It's crucial to enforce strict regulations to protect our health and environment from this hazardous chemical. This graph outlines how fungal growth is dependent on the temperature and relative humidity (RH) of the environment when given the opportunity to grow on "optimal media." This environmental info can be used to better understand underlying factors that can contribute to high TYM CFU/g counts on cannabis flower and in the manufacturing environment. Some things to think about: 💧What is the RH and temp in your flower room during the last few weeks of flower? 💧Are you able to control the RH in your dry room? Esp in the first few days when you've got a lot of moisture to remove? 1-2 days of optimal growth conditions can increase the mycelial growth/spore germination of fungal plant pathogens or post-harvest spoilage microbes and contribute to compliance failures and occupational safety hazards. What’s THM ? WATER EXAMS Chemist: Jimmy Distributreatment THMs, or trihalomethanes, are chemical compounds that can form when chlorine, used to disinfect drinking water, reacts with natural organic matter in the water. The most common THMs include: - Chloroform (CHCl₃) - Bromodichloromethane (CHBrCl₂) - Dibromochloromethane (CHBr₂Cl) - Bromoform (CHBr₃) These compounds are considered potentially harmful to human health if consumed at high levels over extended periods. They are linked to an increased risk of cancer, liver, kidney, and central nervous system problems. Regulatory agencies like the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have set limits on the allowable levels of THMs in drinking water to minimize these risks.
