Inclusivity is more than just a term—it’s a challenge the Indigenous community has faced for years. As an Indigenous girl, I cherished my long hair, wore no makeup, and liked to wear a pair of earrings my mother gave me. I vividly remember my boss telling me to change my hairstyle and that my earrings belonged to a nightclub. Painful to hear, right? Since the '90s, I have witnessed leaders and bosses trying to change people's identities. This experience fuels my passion for advocating the truths that led to our reconciliation. I dream of a day when a person can show up looking exactly as she/he wants and be judged solely on her skills, not her appearance. I feel incredibly grateful and privileged to be in spaces where I can make a meaningful impact in these areas. My education in governance has empowered me to guide essential conversations toward inclusivity, though there is still much work to be done. I invite us all to play a part in our own spaces. This post encourages us to push for authenticity and truth in the workplace and embrace our true selves without guilt. The photo below is of Dana's Mild'id giving me my first language certificate of Smalgy'ax, and it reminds me that stories must be told. I would like to hear about your experiences regarding this topic as I also learn from each of you. #Inclusivity #Diversity #Authenticity #IndigenousCommunity #WorkplaceDiversity #DecolonizedGovernance #TruthAndReconciliation

HOW TO OBSERVE CELEBRATE DIVERSITY MONTH Listen to people from other cultures Some of the world's most urgent problems stem from the fact that minorities tend to not feel as represented or as listened to as the majority. If you have colleagues or coworkers who feel like their concerns are not being heard, listen to what they have to say, and help them get their points across to those who have trouble listening. If we can foster more inclusive work or social environments, then we are one step closer to achieving global harmony. #DiversityMatters #InclusionForAll #CelebrateDiversity #UnityInDiversity #EmbraceDifferences #EqualityNow #DiverseWorld

The 17th of May marks the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Lesbophobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBLIT). It is a day to raise awareness about discrimination, violence, and challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ community across the globe. As I reflect on my personal journey, I am filled with gratitude for having the opportunity to be part of organizations that foster a safe and inclusive environment for our community. Particularly at #Reckitt, from day one, I found a place where I could be authentically myself. A place where #Allies are always ready to stand up when needed, and where leadership is genuinely committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive culture. Today, this post is not just an act of #Pride, but also a reminder that we should never take these achievements for granted. There is still much work to be done in our society. Let’s continue to strive for equality and acceptance for all. This Garden Isn’t Finished Without You: RHS Flower Show Tatton Park from 17 to 21 July 2024 Let’s face it, no garden is ever really finished. How can it be when everything in it just keeps growing and changing? But, we’ve deliberately created space for the visitors to RHS Flower Show Tatton Park to add a flower to the garden – a flower that represents who they are. There’s space for everyone, and the garden isn’t finished without each contribution. Take a moment to reflect: how are you creating inclusive spaces in your church communities? Are there creative ways you could show your commitment to inclusion and diversity?

🌟 Celebrating Courage and Change: The Importance of Rosa Parks Day 🌟 Let's chat about an incredible day that's all about bravery, standing up for what's right, and making a difference: Rosa Parks Day! 🚌✨ Rosa Parks was a superhero without a cape. On December 1, 1955, in Montgomery, Alabama, she did something extraordinary. She refused to give up her seat on a bus to a white person, defying the unfair laws of the time. This bold move kick-started a massive movement for equal rights in America. 💪 So, why is this day so important? 🤔 Rosa Parks Day isn't just a history lesson; it's a day that reminds us all to stand up for fairness, equality, and respect for everyone, no matter what they look like or where they come from. It's about recognizing the strength in our differences and working together to make our communities and workplaces more welcoming for all. This ties perfectly into #DEI - Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. These three big words are all about creating spaces where everyone feels valued and included. Rosa Parks showed us that one person's actions can spark change and inspire others to work towards a world where everyone has equal opportunities to succeed and be heard. 🌍👫 So today, let's honor Rosa Parks by embracing #diversity, striving for #equity, and including everyone's voices in our conversations. We all have the power to make a difference, just like Rosa did. 🚀 Let's be the change-makers of today! How will you promote DEI in your workplace or community? Share your thoughts and let's get the conversation started! #RosaParksDay #Diversity #Equity #Inclusion #BeTheChange
