🙌 We have mentioned it before, but the #BalticSeaFactory processing line is up and running! 🎉 After extensive renovations and installations of new specifically adapted equipment, the factory is ready for official opening in June. 🐚 🏭 The equipment is adapted to processing #BalticSea #bluemussels, which are smaller and have thinner shells than mussels usually used. Various crops necessitate specific temperature settings, relative humidity levels, and crate placements. I'm delighted to have contributed to the Your VCCA manual, which serves as a user-friendly guide to aid cooling companies in training their operators. Here's a brief overview of the manual's chapters: Chapter 1: How decentralised cold rooms are revolutionising the fight against global post-harvest losses. Chapter 2: Best practices for preserving the quality of fresh produce through temperature management and raising awareness of ethylene sensitivity. The company has been working with NIRAS since mid-90’, when the initial contact was made to assist in developing Ryfisk’s plant into a modern salmon producing facility. Masterplan + expertise = optimal solution NIRAS and Ryfisk adopted a masterplan approach, which involved the client and their expectations for sales and production. The masterplan formed a solid tool for developing the plant, keeping focus on the final goal. In the process, Ryfisk had the advantage of NIRAS's combined expert knowledge on processing, hygiene, internal logistics, buildings and supply plants, which together form a 3D approach to planning a processing plant.
