"All good things come to an end...   ... so that better things can fall into place."   After eight and a half years at EFFECT Photonics, the time has come for me to move on.   When I joined in 2016, it was just the four founders and a small core team. I am incredibly grateful to Tim Koene-Ong, Boudewijn Docter, James Regan, and Robert Hughes for taking a leap of faith and hiring an experienced product manager, though without much domain knowledge. The first months were like drinking from a firehose: so much deep tech and so many acronyms (DWDM, MQW, DBR, PIC, MZM...). I sometimes wondered if I could ever understand any or all of it... After eight years and many patient explanations, I have quite a good grasp of the ins and outs... but there is always more to learn!   I've greatly enjoyed being a member of the high-performance Sales and Marketing over the last few years. I especially appreciate all the opportunities that Harald Graber, MBA has given me and his confidence in me. His nudge to start at Kellogg-WHU Executive MBA, based on his positive experience, has been life-changing. I tremendously enjoyed working with my peers, Nina Groothuijzen and Pieter Moolman, bridging the gap between technology innovation and customer value-add. Finally, I'm very proud of all the hard work that my team of Thijs Peeters, Elwin Hameleers, and, previously, Vladi Veljanovski and Michiel Boermans have done to design a portfolio that addresses the market's needs.   I love the optics and photonics industry, and I'm not finished having fun there yet! Stay tuned for an update on my next challenge...

Dear Joost, The work we did together allowed Effect Photonics to still exist today, you can be very proud of what you did for EP. Remember our discussions..., these were great times. Here an other advice mon ami: it is good to fly high but you can only move forward with feet on the ground, so keep running. Looking forward to see how you will keep shining in your next endeavours. Bonne continuation et au plaisir de te revoir un jour. Take care.
