Marketing professional specializing in strategy, branding, creative, art direction and omnichannel content production.
Every week, we’ll examine a new ad to see how well it is laid out, using the C.R.A.P. graphic design system. Some will be good, some will be bad and some are going to be just plain ugly. Either way, we can learn from all of the wins and mistakes. The design system is explained here: https://lnkd.in/gxK3HMGp If you need any help with graphic design layouts, feel free to DM me. And now, onto the review… GOOD C.R.A.P. Contrast - CEVO CONCRETE EVOLUTION really stands out. As you read down the page, the 2 QR codes have a lot of empty space around them, inviting us to focus in on the calls to action. Repetition - The color bars from the CEVO icon are also seen above, incorporated into the concrete of the building. The 2 subheads match and creates a nice visual bookcase. A+ Alignment - Tarmac logo and tagline all the way at the bottom align to each other. Offset from that, is the main content, which is all left aligned. Perfection! Proximity - The QR codes have calls to action attached to them. Perfect. BAD C.R.A.P. No complaints. #opentowork #jobsearch #hireme #jobhunt #jobseeker #hiring #recruitment #jobsearching #remotework #artdirector #graphicdesigner #creative #marketingjobs #marketingmanager #construction

3 reasons why the position "Senior Designer" has been diluted over the years. → Designers want to move up to the career ladder quickly to get the bigger salary that comes with promotion. Resulting in taking on senior roles when they are not ready for it or have not truly developed as a designer. → The amount of Senior Designers leaving the industry (due to a lack of career progression) has fast-tracked a lot of mid-weight designers to the senior level when, again, they aren’t ready for it. → Start up brands will offer "senior" titles to less experienced candidates as a way of attracting them to the company. IMO Senior designer = time in the industry x evidence of delivering projects to a high level. I would say you need 8-10 years experience to become a senior design. ✌️ #design #Title #copied #Graphic #Designer #Senior #level #IMO #years #career #hire

Sometimes there is a misconception that I just put pretty things in place, but in truth I am… An Artist, a Project Manager, a Consultant, a Building Inspector, a Customer Service Representative, a Business Owner, a Fashion Designer, a Psychologist, a Magician, an Architect, and probably a whole host of other professions. “Interior Designer” can be quite a vague title. Anyone who gives their home a makeover might call themselves one. That's the difference. I don't just make pretty spaces; I create experiences. Everything I do has a profound psychological, physiological, and ergonomic reason behind it. Perhaps I'm more of a "Psychological Space Transformer," an "Emotional Environment Designer," or an “Interior Architect.“ Do any of you face similar challenges in your work?

I've said in the past that the difference between a junior designer and a mid-level one is that the mid-level one knows how to say "no" and the junior doesn't. And the difference between a mid-level designer and a senior one is that the senior one doesn't have to say "no". Some people believe what I meant is that it's because a senior designer does such good work, that stakeholders simply buy it wholesale, but that's not it. What I mean is that a good senior designer can steer the process and conversations in such ways, that saying "no" isn't required. Of course, this is just a hyperbole. I don't mean that in a literal sense. We still say no, but it's never the default position. What changes with increased seniority as a designer is that one can anticipate a lot more thanks to prior experience, which enables senior designers to direct the process and not only react to it.

Came across this thread yesterday and it hit home. Not because I think there is anything wrong with being multifaceted, though. To the contrary, I think it’s the evolving nature of work, technology and creativity that people today can add all of these skill sets to their toolbox (sounds cliche but I can’t think of a better analogy). The analogy that hiring a designer and asking of them some print, digital, brand, marketing, and all the rest (experience) is the like hiring a carpenter to re-wire your house isn’t a great one though. What do you think? Is having experience in a bunch of somewhat related areas a bad thing to want if you are hiring someone?

"I am currently occupied, but I don't consider it a loss for LinkedIn. Often, I hear people asking me, 'Manish, why aren't you available for yourself?' 📌 To which I respond, 'Who will be present at those places where my presence is most required?' Being active on LinkedIn or social media is crucial, but as the #owner, #founder, and #CEO of my company, I prioritize accordingly. 'We are already occupied,' I often emphasize. However, I also recognize the importance of maintaining and growing my brand value, which is why I'm active here as well. By the way, I require professionals for my company: - - Architect - Interior Designer - Sales Executive - Draughtsperson (Immediate Joining) Send your resume and portfolio to the provided email address, mentioning this post, and "please wait for 24 to 48 hours for getting our response." I had no idea what I was doing. When I started my first job as a graphic designer, I thought I'd made a mistake. I was winded by the pressure to create quickly and to a standard beyond what I could. I started in a few corporate companies as the sole graphic designer. But they felt grey to me. Do you know what was more challenging than the technical aspect of my role? The environments. The workplace cultures I experienced shook me. Little did I realise I was stepping into unhealthy familial ecosystems, each person with a seat at the dinner table. The head of the house would decide everything and get away with much. The rest scrambling, apologising, and blaming. Fitting in was never my forte (cue photo of 13-year-old me cheerfully standing next to giant Spongebob at Universal Studios), and in this format—nearly impossible. But do you know what all these workplaces have taught me? What I believe in. How to stand up for myself. How to stand up for others. What I like creating; what I don't. And most importantly, what environment I want to create for others in the future. In this article, I write about a workplace that changed me for the better despite being challenging. https://lnkd.in/g9B583nm #workplaceculture #everyoneisyourteacher #createfreely #designmentor #graphicdesign
