3/7/24 Update: SHE DID IT!! 💪 Cole sailed into Spain in the early morning hours today! Fun fact: Cole's boat is named First Light, and she intentionally slowed down her pace to come in at "first light", versus darkness, in honor of her trusted partner that brought her safely back to shore. Original post: Things I'm learning from Cole Brauer: 1. Sometimes growth happens in the tightest spaces. 2. Making room for the softer parts of life (like fleece blankets) allows you the comfort to be human, even if it means they take up space. 3. Be yourself, you don't need to be anyone else. 4. Connection (even from afar )makes you stronger. 5. Winds and waves will happen. Allow yourself to scream, cry and be frustrated. And then...get back on course. 💪 Read below for more about how Cole is about to be the first American female to complete a solo sail around the world! #gocolego!

Canyon Bicycles GmbH x Lebron 👏 Attracting customers outside of the cycling industry to ride bikes has also been the holy grail in my eyes. People riding bikes only grows when we change habits and inspire. Something that caught my attention this week was an awesome collaboration between Canyon & Lebron James. Wow. They have truly pulled this one out the bag. This seems to be part of a wider marketing strategy named ‘Find Your Freedom’, which has set rider profiles for various uses for a bike. Personally on point to make sure they are relating to a significant amount of potential customers. Here is why I think this is the best cycling marketing play in 2024. ⭐ Lebron James is a global name. He appeals to an audience far wider than just people that cycle. ⭐ Its bold & brave. It pushes the boundaries of traditional cycling marketing. ⭐ It builds emotional attachment with the customer audience by leaning on specific rider profiles. ⭐ Inclusivity. Lebron is the highlight but when you dive deeper all these riders have a unique story In a time where market forces are working against brands, and usually cost control measures impact your marketing budget first, it is so pleasing to see this happen. Chapeau to the team at Canyon for challenging the boundaries of marketing in cycling & growing the sport/industry we are involved in. #marketing #cycling #branding #collab

Did you know that a staggering 75% of Brits continue to feel engaged with work activity whilst on holiday, with 25% responding to emails whilst on annual leave (https://lnkd.in/gFpHa6zh)? Following a recent holiday to Iceland, I remembered this clever campaign from Visit Iceland a couple of years ago which is all about reminding people of the importance of ✨actually✨ taking time away from work. “Outhorse Your Email” allows you to pick one of three Icelandic horses to write an out-of-office email for you whilst you are away, creating a memorable and humorous message for anyone trying to get in contact with you. For this, three Icelandic horses were trained to walk on custom-designed giant computer keyboards with promotion images of the campaign shot in iconic Icelandic landmarks 🐴 The output from the horses may not be totally comprehensible, but the full out-of-office response includes a few lines explaining the campaign as well as the important info like your return to work date. Overall Outhorse Your Email really highlights that some of the best PR campaigns tackle real issues in a way that makes you smile... https://lnkd.in/ghnmPCjp

Over the last two weeks, I completed my 15th race from Chicago to Mackinac and my first Bayview to Mackinac race. In total, this was 537 nautical miles of sailing through all conditions. We saw storms that crippled boats ahead and led to a man overboard rescue, and light to no breeze, requiring much patience and focus to keep the boat moving. It took a team of 14 people and their families supporting each other along the way to make this possible. Every time I come home from a Mac race, I feel like my cup is full again. From getting in the groove of tuning our sails to optimize our speed at all times, to the laughs that make you cry, and the camaraderie of the sailing community when you hit the island, there’s nothing I’d rather take a break from work to do. This year, our team has focused on giving an extra 10%. We’ve improved our communication, tried new techniques, and have learned to trust each other even more to do our jobs well. The extra effort that we’ve put in shows. I firmly believe that this translates to more than just sailing. I can take a step back to apply what I’ve learned over the past 20 years of racing sailboats to other aspects of my life, including my team at work. If we can all put in even just an extra percent, this will be visible in our products, user satisfaction, and satisfaction within our jobs. P.S. If you’d like to make sure you’re optimizing your % of returns while tuning your financial strategy, check out M1 and take advantage of an extra APY boost on your savings. https://lnkd.in/gBx9zda6

Slow and steady wins the race. The saying comes from folk lore, most famously known as the fable "Tortoise and the Hare" The hare mocks the tortoise for being slow and so the tortoise challenges him to a race and ultimately wins. And honestly, it's taken me years to actually understand the meaning behind it. Modern society is all about instant graitfication. We need things -now- and if we don't achieve something immediately, we feel like we've failed. I use to the feel the same. Rushing every thing to try and win the race. But I've learned winning just one race is usually not important. There will be many more races to win. And if you take your time and learn from your losses. You'll probably find by the time you're ready, you don't even need to enter. You've already won. So weather you're losing weight, doing a home renovation or building your first start up, it's okay to take your time. Small steps. Focus on the outcomes. And in a year, 2 years, 5 years you'll be amazed at how far you've come.

Been gone for about two decades, so finding him might be tough. Storyline – Secrets. Everybody keeps secrets. Some are small, insignificant, and inconsequential. High above the ski resort is one of the most magnificent back country skiing experiences. Revelation Bowl, part of the Telluride Ski Resort, is a remote and truly majestic black diamond ski run.
