As a fan of zoom lenses, and telephoto zooms in particular, when Fujifilm announced the XF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 R LM OIS WR lens, on January 27, 2021, I placed an order that day. I was interested in this lens for several reasons. First, was the focal length range of 70-300mm, as my previous maximum zoom lens was the XF 50-140mm f/2.8. Second, was relatively small size and weight - especially compared to the XF 50-140mm and XF 100-400mm. And third was the relative value of the $799 USD price (again compared to $1899 USD for the XF 100-400mm).
