Great to see 100+ nature investors listed and thanks to Top Tier Impact for doing so. Now, what's the real impact of these investments and how do you understand it? How do we design #investmentfunds and investment vehicles the right way at inception to better ensure desired outcomes for #natureinvesting? Transformational Investing in Food Systems created its Systemic Investing Assessment (SIA) screening tool to help investors and funds 'daylight' the #unassignedrisk and unintended consequences of their investments. Importantly, it's being used in #funddesign to better ensure #nature, #climate and #social outcomes are incorporated at the beginning of a fund's life.

Transformational Investing in Food Systems just moderated a similar session at #GreenFin24 on how to #finance #NatureBasedSolutions. Great to see this important conversation also happening via World Climate Foundation on June 26.
🌿 The adoption of the #NatureRestorationLaw is a monumental win for #biodiversity! 🌿 #SustainableFinance with #NatureBasedSolutions (#NbS) is crucial to keep this momentum. The Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (#GBF) aims to mobilise $200B annually for biodiversity, but the UN Environment Programme reports nature-harmful investments outpace NbS by 30 times. Funding for NbS must nearly triple to $542B annually by 2030 📈 Significant increases in public and private financial flows are needed, alongside mechanisms to redirect finance harmful to nature. So great to work with Investable Oceans and Aqua-Spark in NYC during World Oceans Week!
We recently posted about ways several of our team members were involved in the 8th Annual World Oceans Week at The Explorers Club. In addition to these individual activities, Investable Oceans helped curate a number of private blue economy events during the week that brought together a diverse array of individuals and institutions for discussion and action. 🇧🇸 On Monday, we enjoyed helping Xiao R. and Builders Initiative host a gathering for various stakeholders working on philanthropic and impact investment initiatives in the Bahamas, which have seen significant growth over the past several years. 🐟 On Wednesday, we co-costed a roundtable session, “Investing in Blue Foods: Addressing the Missing Middle,” with Aqua-Spark and Transformational Investing in Food Systems (TIFS) to identify ways to accelerate the flow of capital into building a sustainable seafood ecosystem. 🌊On Thursday, we teamed up with MITRE to host an engaging dialogue, “Frontiers in Blue Data: Accelerating Innovation and Stewardship Through Collaboration,” which convened over two dozen organizations that spanned industry, government, NGOs, investors and research institutions to explore ways to create partnerships and synergies among key actors in the ocean data space. 🥇This is what ‘taking responsibility’ looks like. 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱 The EU Council just approved the Nature Restoration Law (#euNRL). 🇦🇹Austria and 🇸🇰Slovakia made this possible to reach the qualified majority by joining the other 18 countries in favor. The qualified majority was razor thin (66% in favour, while 65% were needed). 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱 Thank you to so many of you who have shared posts about this important topic, talked to media, done the hard work to build coalitions and advocate. Policy is a critical instrument for incentivizing action and showing the direction of travel. Congratulations to brave politicians for doing the right thing 🌱💚 Now the rest of us can take over and get the work done. Just dropped! 👇 I'm so excited to announce The Rockefeller Foundation's latest contribution to the field of #regenerative agriculture: The Financing for Regenerative Agriculture Report! With Pollination and Transformational Investing in Food Systems (TIFS) we've listened to financing experts from around the world to source their views on what's been tried and what's needed to structure capital for regenerative transitions. The result: a compendium that overviews diverse, innovative financial structures that can be adapted for a range of contexts, producers, and investment needs to drive regenerative transitions. The Financing for Regenerative Agriculture report sheds light on how investors are beginning to drive the transition to a more resilient food system, and it builds the case that viable pathways exist for other capital providers to join the transition.
