We recently posted about ways several of our team members were involved in the 8th Annual World Oceans Week at The Explorers Club. In addition to these individual activities, Investable Oceans helped curate a number of private blue economy events during the week that brought together a diverse array of individuals and institutions for discussion and action.
🇧🇸 On Monday, we enjoyed helping Xiao R. and Builders Initiative host a gathering for various stakeholders working on philanthropic and impact investment initiatives in the Bahamas, which have seen significant growth over the past several years.
🐟 On Wednesday, we co-costed a roundtable session, “Investing in Blue Foods: Addressing the Missing Middle,” with Aqua-Spark and Transformational Investing in Food Systems (TIFS) to identify ways to accelerate the flow of capital into building a sustainable seafood ecosystem.
🌊On Thursday, we teamed up with MITRE to host an engaging dialogue, “Frontiers in Blue Data: Accelerating Innovation and Stewardship Through Collaboration,” which convened over two dozen organizations that spanned industry, government, NGOs, investors and research institutions to explore ways to create partnerships and synergies among key actors in the ocean data space.
A huge thank you to our partners and everyone who engaged in these events with us!
