We are thrilled to announce a new dining partnership with St. Francis Senior Ministries, a faith-based retirement community providing a full continuum of senior housing and healthcare services in Tiffin, Ohio. “We are happy about the opportunity to have Cura serve all of our residents’ dining needs. From vibrant residents to residents who require personalized care, Cura’s food quality does not discriminate. We are also excited about the future opportunity for our team to strengthen their culinary skills through the Cura Culinary College,” says Gabe Stoll, LNHA Executive Director, St. Francis Senior Ministries. Congratulations and many thanks to our extraordinary culinary team pictured here led by Chef-Director Sean Huitt, who prepares a wide selection of chef-inspired meals! There's a local Maryland restaurant group called #fivestar that owns/manages many restaurants locally, including #limoncello #pourhousepub #amalficoast The food is good at these places. The restaurants are clean. But sometimes mistakes do happen. Maybe there's not enough staffing, for example. Or a food order was incorrect. Like in #healthcare right now, and pretty much every industry. But what really stands out is their staff are consistently nice and hard-working. Polite. Friendly. Hustling. Apologizing if you do have to wait. During this #staffingcrisis where #recruitment and #retention are constantly keeping most managers up at night, particularly those in #healthcare #seniorliving, it's important to remember that kind, hard-working people can be trained into new careers. Obviously, clinicians need licenses. But beyond that, consider areas where you can create a career path for those with great attitudes who are new to the industry.

Sodexo has announced that it has massively expanded its use of the DefaultVeg strategy at post-secondary campus dining halls. The program is now embedded at nearly 400 university and college campuses across the US. At these locations, unless the school actively opts out, every dining hall will include two stations that encourage students to choose plant-based meals: one that is entirely plant-based and one that alternates plant-based and animal-based meals as the main offering each day. (Students can still request animal-based dishes on any day). A newly published peer-reviewed study found that offering plant-based meals as the default in campus dining halls resulted in a 58.3% increase in the rate of students choosing these meals.
