🚀 Build Update 13 Weeks to go. Behind schedule and have become the person I hate. I am quite frankly, totally behind on everything so don’t use these build update as a ‘How to Guide’. 🙋🏻♀️ I have vowed to answer all those emails by Monday and also to never file anything in that folder again. 🍕 We have four businesses already keen to sponsor the event which is around 30% sponsorship target. I’ve never been directly responsible for this before so I don’t know whether that’s bad or good at this stage. 👍 We did turn down the offer to be in a Shell Incubator programme. 👩🏻💻 I have just come off the back of attending three purpose driven events GOODFEST CIC, Blue Earth Summit and #SustainableEventsSummit by Event Vision:2025. I have a few surprises added into our event as a result. 😻 One of the most aligned quotes I needed to hear last week was Jamie Laing talking about the growth of Candy Kittens and telling us to ‘Ignore the Competition and run your own race’. As a result I’ve muted a few people on here and actively decide to head into Monk Mode over the next few months. How do we measure the success of an event? Attendance! Attendance is crucial for an event to succeed, but also for your parent group's hard work and effort to get recognized. Here are some expert tips and tricks to make sure your next event gets perfect attendance: -Start promoting events well in advance through different channels.  -Create engaging and relevant event themes that will get parents or students excited.  -Collaborate with local businesses and organizations to attract a broader audience.  -Send event reminders a few days before and on the day of the event to keep it top of mind.  -Consider the timing of each event so that it can be accessible to most people. ⬇️ This is one of the biggest problems I encounter when planning events. I get it - I love events because they are an opportunity to get creative and experiment. Particularly in the event tech space, there are always lots of cool toys, tools and ideas to play with. It's easy to get excited and carried away! We try and bolt more and more on to the experience. But all those little ideas can detract from the big idea, the reason you want to get people together in the first place. The result is an event that doesn't actually achieve what it set out to do. I'm the first to advocate for doing things differently and trying new things. Just make sure they serve a purpose, enhance your event experience and don't create unnecessary hurdles for your guests.
