Last week Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling celebrated National Intern Day! We value and appreciate the impact our 40 plus Interns are having on the company through their projects and initiatives by using their creativity, problem solving skills, continuous improvement mindsets and academic learnings. We are thankful they chose Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling to gain their internship experience from! Having an Internship Program is an important avenue for bringing early talent into the company! The goal is to convert Interns into full-time employees upon graduation! One of the Internship Program events is a Former Intern Panel. The Panel is an excellent way to recognize the fantastic Former Interns that work for Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling as a result of their successful internships as well as showcase for the current Interns the career opportunities. Former Interns, Brendan Pasbrig, Jenna K., Eduard Zeledon and Chloe Johanson, shared their career paths, career advice, "AHA" moments and were vulnerable in sharing their biggest Intern mistakes. They turned those mistakes into learning moments! Just finished my second week of internship at Mondelēz International and wow, it's been a whirlwind! Here are a few things I've picked up along the way: 1. The corporate world moves fast! Balancing time and tasks is key to keeping up. 2. People are always talking about business school and networking, but networking can feel overwhelming. It's a skill worth learning though! 3. It's easy to feel overwhelmed with all the work and new information, but taking it one step at a time helps. 4. There's this constant fear of missing out and competition among fellow interns. But instead of letting it get to you, connecting with others and discussing projects can actually be really helpful. These have been my lessons. This week we welcomed 100 interns from top business schools in the country as a part of our flagship Unilever Leaders Internship Program (ULIP). Backed by a 70-year history, this program has been the responsible for grooming legends, many of whom are today CXO’s within and outside HUL!    When I stepped into the room to share my experience with the interns, the enthusiasm and energy was palpable, and it brought back vivid memories of my own days as an intern. The start of April is when thousands of students from business schools across the country start their summer internships - a first but pivotal step to the corporate world. For this season of internships, no matter what organisation you are with, here are some tips on how to navigate the experience.    ·                The Joy of "Making It": Celebrate your victories, big and small. Internships are special. Bottle up this feeling. You’ll cherish it for years to come.  ·                Find Your Superpower: We all have our unique strengths. Recognize and leverage them to excel in everything you do.  ·                No course better than the one you’re on: Focus on creating your own path. Don't dwell on what company or project you missed out on; make the most of the one you have been chosen for ·                Put it out there: Ambition is a good thing, dream fearlessly and then work towards making it happen.   ·                Every voice matters, every opinion counts: Your voice matters and don’t hesitate to challenge the status quo.  ·                Enjoy the experience: Build a network of mentors and guides, lean on them, learn from them, and grow together.
