🚧 Today marks the start of Safety Week 2024 at Colas! 🚧 The theme of the 11th edition is ‘Facing the unexpected: stop, think, act’ 🛑🤔✅. Why this theme ❓ When we analyse the causes of our serious accidents or accidents that could have been serious, we find that very often they occur after a last-minute change that was not taken into account in the execution of the tasks to be carried out. Throughout the week, 🕹️ An educational game in which each team has to choose between ‘continue’, ‘continue under conditions’ or ‘stop (end of day)’ when faced with unforeseen scenarios will be proposed to the teams during the safety meetings. These are privileged moments of exchange that should contribute to a lasting change in our behaviour to achieve our goal of ‘Zero Accidents’. [Our highlights 💛] Facing the unexpected! 👷♀️👷♂️ Safety is at the heart of our activities and concerns. It is a daily fight. And also an annual event that we’ve been holding for more than 10 years. These kinds of privileged moments of exchange contribute to remind every employee of the importance of being uncompromising in the application of safety rules to achieve our “Zero Accident” objective. And so from June 10 to 14, our 65,000 employees around the world are mobilized and trained in health and safety issues. This year, we chose to raise awareness on the risks associated with last-minute changes, unusual conditions or taking the initiative. Why this theme❓ When we analyze the causes of our serious accidents or accidents that could have been serious - the “HiPo” (high potential for severity), we find that very often they occur after a last-minute change that was not taken into account in the execution of the tasks to be carried out. 🎥 Throughout the week, videos, animations and workshops are organized. I always wondered how far/long it would take to reach all our departments in one Safety Walk! Turns out its a three and a half hours and about 9.6 Miles!!! New for Fridays in 2024 myself and senior management are conducting regular "Safety Strolls" around all Cobalt Ground Solutions Ltd departments at Terminals 3 and 4. These walks are designed to create an open and engaging platform for us to discuss safety-related matters, answer any questions, and hear any valuable suggestions from staff. These walks aren't just about the steps; they're about fostering an open and engaging dialogue around safety. Here's what's also making them so impactful so far: Giving immediate answers to any safety queries or concerns. Sharing thoughts and suggestions on how we can enhance safety measures at Heathrow. Discovering best practices and learning from each other's experiences. Addressing potential safety issues before they become problems. Putting names to the faces!!!: A chance to meet members of the teams in person. This is just the start of this initiative and I hope we can evolve it into a permanent fixture, that makes our airport a safer place for everyone. Looking forward to the future Safety Strolls, and the opportunity to connect with more staff in the coming weeks.

We’ve launched the 11th edition of our Safety Week. The theme " facing the unexpected " was not selected at random but thanks to two complementary approaches: 🔹The analysis of the causes of our accidents and near misses. This analysis is made possible today by the power of our digital tools. 🔹The field experience of safety managers. Their experience is invaluable as it allows a fine understanding of human behavior, context, and the constraints that colleagues in operations face every day. The commitment that drives us in terms of safety is based on two values : "courage" and "sincerity". These two fundamental values are not just abstract concepts. They guide our daily actions, influence our decisions and shape our safety culture. Safety is a long journey and we are willing to keep the momentum ! It’s Safety Week! At Terracon, safety isn’t just a workplace initiative – it’s a way of life! His journey into this field sparked important reflections on safety, prompting me to consider the safety orientation he would receive. After some discussions with colleagues and reflecting on our safety culture, I sat down with my son and had a conversation about the importance of safety. I emphasized the significance of speaking up if he ever finds himself in a situation where he feels unsafe at work and beyond.
