So we have a young lady coming onsite to interview with us in Dallas tomorrow, and today I texted her that I'm excited to meet her in person, and see if she has any questions before her final interview. She responded with a few sentences to convey her excitement with four, count 'em, four, exclamation marks. 1) Let the record state that I am pro-exclamation mark. 2) How cool is that?!? A candidate being that excited for an interview. This is what a good #candidateexperience will yield. Candidates that feel like you care and are more and more excited about the prospect of joining your company with each passing step. Which will ultimately help you land the candidates you want. Why wouldn't every company approach the candidate experience with that same level of care? Because not every company is like OBE. Because OBE is awesome. The end :) #nowhiring #OBE #recruiting #recruitinglife #companyculture #interviewing

This article gives some interesting pointers for candidates and recruiters. It may not be true for all of us but it throws light on some of the communication/response rules that are present for each side.
You go to a job interview at 1 p.m. Around 10 p.m., you get this text: "Hey, Tim. This is Ben. I work at Vanderbloemen. I was out of the office today. I heard you were there. Heard that everyone was really impressed with you. I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you. I would love to connect with you sometime. Hope that can work." Do you reply? If so, how long does it take you? Your decision might affect whether you're hired. William Vanderbloemen, the test's creator and founder of Vanderbloemen Search Group, said not texting back isn't a dealbreaker but a fast reply is a definite plus. So, what are your thoughts on late-night texts from recruiters?
