There's a difference only you can make!
My mother says that to me often. And I agree. Everyone has a unique set of skills and perspectives they bring to the table.
In communities, school environments and especially in technological development like in IoT.
The IoT space is very broad and requires a set of unique but interconnected skills. And everyone can fill a spot in that network.
Like I mentioned last time, The IoT is a complex network involving hardware, computer networking, embedded systems, Cloud computing, web and app development, cybersecurity, Quality testing, design and a lot of other stuff.
If you're In any of these spaces, there is a place for you in ioT.
So why not check it out?
We'll need web developers and UI/UX designers to create the applications users will interact with.
Embedded systems engineer, computer networking engineers, hardware engineers to create the control and processing devices for obtaining data and interpreting it meaningfully.
Cloud computing engineers, Data analysts. Did I mention the volume of data we'd be obtaining from these networks everyday?
By 2025 the IoT is estimated to produce about 80 zettabytes of data (that's one trillion gigabytes!). We need to translate this data into something we can make sense of.
We do this by visual representation and by classification.
Cybersecurity engineers. We'd be putting a lot of information on the net. And we know it's not exactly the safest place. We need to safeguard these pieces of information from people or organisations that may want to use them for their gain, to our detriment.
That's where these superheroes come in.
And of course, lots and lots of programmers. There a ton of code to be written to achieve functionality in some of these devices. We'll leave them in the capable hands of our favourite tech geeks.
There's also a special place for robotics enthusiasts and related skills (3d modelling and printing, fabrication, additive manufacturing).
If we have household appliances on the internet, nothing really stops us from putting robots on there too. It would be Siri on wheels.
We'll also need nontechnical skills. Technical writing, communication, art and even business leaders for IoT solutions.
It's a really broad space. And everyone can contribute something. Even beyond the ones I listed. So if this sounds fascinating, check it out!
