Chelsea Football Club and Chelsea Foundation, in collaboration with VERSUS, are bringing back the Blue Creator Fund to empower the next generation of creators.
Five UK-based winners from underrepresented backgrounds will be awarded £20,000 in funding for their creative projects.
All artistry is welcome: whether you are a musician, content creator, poet or playwright, Chelsea and VERSUS want you to bring the story of Chelsea and our community to light.

Here's an inspiring news story: a Headmaster buys seven 2nd-hand pianos for £16 in total, and places them around the school estate for children to play. The result is that children play them in breaks, entertain each other and try to pick out tunes they know. Student-led arts participation is transformed, for just £16.
It's a triumph for two reasons:
1. How to think outside the box as a leader
2. Arts provision isn't just about resources, excellent teaching and timetable space. It's about empowering students to find their own creativity.
Give children the space to make music socially, away from the formality of teaching, and we'll better inspire the next generation of musicians.

Dragqueen Last Supper at the Olympics: why the apologies?
What a shitstorm about the drag queens reenacting Leonardo Da Vinci's The Last Supper. The scene led to huge criticism and one of the sponsors C Spire even pulled back their advertising. The organizers of the Paris Olympics have apologized for the offense caused by the scene.
Here's why I think they shouldn't have done that.
First of all, you should be allowed to make fun of the church. If you do a thing like this, at least admit it. We should be able to laugh about any authority that claims to have a monopoly on the truth, whether it's the church, conspiracy theorists or social justice fanatics. If this is not possible anymore, the world would be a scary place.
Second of all, is it really that provocative? Luis Buñuel made a parody of The Last Supper by Davinci in his movie Viridiana. Peter Greenaway did it in his movie The Cook, The Thief, His Wife & Her Lover. And tons of artists have done it before in a much more original and provocative way. Doing the same thing with drag queens is just too predictable to be offensive.
They shouldn't apologize for being offensive.
They should apologize for the lousy concept.

This is excellent news for not only the theatre, but for Wolverhampton and The Black Country as a region.
A large-scale Community Arts Hub development, including a 250-seat studio theatre, a further smaller scale performance space, rehearsal rooms, exhibition facilities, office and creative business space will open up new opportunities, engagement and drive visitors to the region.
The exhibition/meeting and event space is much needed in the region, allowing the share of the industry worth £39.1 billion.

We’re working to protect our community places. But nominating and supporting a community place on #SaveBirmingham's website isn’t enough.
Any building, community place or land can be officially registered as an Asset of Community Value (ACV) if it benefits the local community, either now or in the future. This can include cultural, recreational and sporting activities.
Being officially registered provides some protection to the community asset when the owner wants to sell it. The owner must notify residents about their intention to sell the community asset, and must wait six months before they can sell.
We want to help community groups and residents to come up with community-based or co-operative solutions to potential asset sales by Birmingham City Council.
