𝗛𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽: 𝗔 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲! ☔️ It was great joining this past Saturday the "youth hiking library" on Kallang Riverside Park. This "hiking mentorship event" was organised by the Singapore Mentorship Committee (SMC) – a program that fosters collaboration between young minds and experienced business leaders. Unlike some of the other attendees (especially the mentees!), my dive into the world of computers started a little later – late teens to be exact. This different starting point gave more perspective to the sharing and made the discussions even more engaging. Special thanks to Chao Deng, CEO of HashKey Capital and President of HashKey Singapore, for sharing his insights as the guest speaker. And thank you to Dr. David Ong, the Founder & Chairman of SMC, for facilitating the networking and keeping the positive vibes flowing despite the unexpected weather. Some questions for further investigations: ▶ What's the future for cryptocurrencies like bitcoin? Have they failed as mainstream currencies but thrived as investable assets, evolving into a different type of financial instrument? ▶ Can the tokens, as evidences of your contributions, be considered the underlying assets of crypto moneys, and the benefits behind them? Security tokens and NFTs certainly represent ownership in underlying assets, offering a clear benefit. But how does the value proposition differ for the tokens utility (i.e.: to participate in the network's operations) and governance (i.e.: to vote on proposed changes, upgrades, or new features for the blockchain network or decentralised application)? ▶ Does Global Readiness transform into a key skillset for future success in our world becoming more globalised? This idea shared by Dr. David Ong of "global readiness" being a skillset resonated deeply with me. It's not just about location; it's about adaptability, cultural awareness, and the ability to thrive in diverse environments.
