Updates on running a virtual first clinic: Progress on goals for the week: 1.) Find an imaging partner: Update: Reached out to several places. They each told me their sales department would get back to me. However, none of them did. The one exception is Green Imaging who we are in conversations with. I will follow up with the imaging centers I am most interested in. 2.) Reach out to facilities that could likely refer patients who could benefit from MAT. Update: I reached out to some personnel from emergency departments. Will keep you all posted. Culture: The one word that I hear frequently between buyers and sellers. This one word can make or break any deal. So how do DSO’s create and maintain a culture worth rallying around? They listen and take action. Listening: A verb many of us believe we do well but do we know how to truly listen to our teams, to our patients, to our providers? No distraction listening. Not listening at conferences to people on stage but listening at the ground level. I heard today a COO of a mid sized DSO doesn’t talk to anyone who does not hold a VP title within the organization. Their retention is low. DSOs need to be listening at the ground level and DifferentKind is simply a force multiplier in these efforts for multi site scale. Starting as a DSO founder with a single practice allowed me an intimate connection with every facet of patient care. I knew our standout providers and the team members who were champions of patient satisfaction. This connection was the heartbeat of our operations. Yet, as we scaled, adding more locations to our group, maintaining this vital connection proved increasingly challenging. What was happening in my offices, in my absence, slowly became something I did not feel connected to. The reliance on regional managers for insights into each office's patient experience became our norm, despite their stretched capacity due to our expanding reach. It's a common storyline in growth, yet one I wished had a different narrative - a narrative DifferentKind now writes. I have known Matthew Allen, DDS for some time now and we have had many conversations at length about DifferentKind. However, today was the day where I finally got a demo of DifferentKind. Being a consultant can be challenging, but moments like this remind me why I do what I do. Recently, I had the privilege of working with a leading medical diagnostics division. The department chair shared that they had been grappling with a particular lab's efficiency for *two decades*. Imagine the frustration and burnout! But here's where the magic happened: over the past two years, we've been able to streamline their processes and eliminate so much waste that the team finally has breathing room – even with increased demand and no additional staff. The most heartwarming part? A lab tech who hadn't spoken to the chair in 20 years walked into his office and *volunteered* to help other struggling labs!
