Do you have 8minutes to support someone? Doing what I do - communication can be a massive barrier to seeking support we need. And so do the relationships we have with those around us. We put this brave, strong mask on to pretend we’re coping well with what life throws at us when all we need is to talk to someone who gets us. And the irony??? We want to be there for our friends when they need us!!!!! But, the support needs to be mutual otherwise one person may start to feel that they’re they only one who can’t cope if the other person never opens up. And the communication must be clear. Whether it’s a code like Simon Sinek mentions in this video, or regular catch up …. And for this, you need to build strong, non- judgmental relationships based on trust. Those relationships also need time and effort to grow and keep. Look around you and be honest with yourself. Who can you call/ text if you need to talk for 8 minutes no matter what time of the day it is? #relationships #support #mentalhealth #wellbeing
