Do you arrive at a conference with concrete goals? I’m heading to Pavilion’s Women’s Summit and GTM2024 in a few hours. ⭐️ My four goals and four tips to help you get the most out of the event. Goal 1️⃣: Wednesday Women is a community partner of the Women’s Summit. So we want to meet as many women as we can. We have a “booth” so stop by and see us (if we’re there…..because no one is “manning the booth” 🤣. Goal 2️⃣: We’re hosting our 2nd annual WW gathering and quick toast on Tuesday at 12:15. Women and allies are invited. DM me for an invite. Goal 3️⃣: Meet all the folks I’ve met over the years in person. Listen more than I talk, make intros, introduce at least 3 people to someone else that could be valuable to them. Goal 4️⃣: Of course, everyone has commercial goals. I’d like to have at least 5 conversations with companies who want to learn more about being a sponsor of Wednesday Women. ☕️ If you want to meet up, I’ll be at the Fairmont around 11 today hanging in the lobby drinking coffee. Quick tips if you’re on the way to Pavilion and flying by the seat of your pants. 💡Scroll through the GTM2024 channel in Slack on the plane. Pick 5 people you want to meet and DM them. 💡Not a natural networker or I’d rather say “community-er”, and you find yourself with out someone to mingle with? This tip is from Rachel Rozen. Look for croissants not bagels. If the group is shaped like a croissant, head right in. Also folks, when you’re having convos, think about how you’re standing. Are you inviting people in or closing people out? 💡Listen more than you talk. Someone will ask you what you do, then you add it in. Don’t be an IRL pitch slapper. 💡Just have fun.
