Cannabinoid Specialist; Harvard Medical School; Association of Cannabinoid Specialists. Seeking companies 2 make better meds.
Cannabis has been used for many years as a medication in modern times. Research, when stripped of bias, has shown that it can be effective and safe for a range of illness. FDA approved versions of cannabis medications have existed for decades and non-drug products appear to be even more effective. Yet, most physicians are not even aware of the potential of cannabis medication for their patients and are sadly lacking in comfort to prescribe it when it would be helpful. Here are the top 5 reasons that clinicians should get familiar with this option and comfortable prescribing it. https://bit.ly/4aqI759 #medicalcannabis #mmj #Boston #health #wellness #cannabismedication @bostonglobe @bostonherald @latimes @nytimes

Our mission is to support intelligent, evidence-driven drug policies that align with global best practices, ensuring better health outcomes for all. 🌿✨ As highlighted in the recent Volteface article writen by Katya Kowalski, it is crucial for the UK to adopt a cohesive approach to drug policy reform. Planned changes to prescribing medical cannabis during online consultations? 🕵♀️ 🌱 We now know that a personal examination will not be a rule to issue a prescription for medical cannabis 🚫 A draft regulation was published this week, according to which such an examination will only be necessary when prescribing substances such as fentanyl, morphine, oxycodone, tramadol, tapentadol, buprenorphine 👩⚕️ ⚗ In the opinion of the drafters, the use of these substances at the highest level is currently associated with risks such as substance abuse and over-prescription, resulting in drug addictions, including those associated with the need for hospitalisation and further pharmacological treatment 💊 If you have any questions, please contact me or Agnieszka Starzyńska CMS Poland #medicalcannabis #lifesciences #prescription

It's concerning that dispensaries in MA, whether recreational or medical, are not required to provide Certificates of Analysis (CoA's) for products sold to patients and consumers. CoA's are critical for transparency, ensuring that what you're consuming has been thoroughly tested for potency, contaminants, and safety. For many patients, the remaining terpenes—information only visible on a CoA—can make all the difference in whether a product is effective or not. The absence of this requirement not only undermines trust but also impacts the health outcomes of those relying on cannabis for relief. It's time to push for mandatory CoA's across the board—because everyone deserves access to safe, quality-assured cannabis that meets their specific needs. #CannabisIndustry #Transparency #ConsumerRights #CannabisSafety #PatientCare

One of the key quotes for Cannabis Patients and Prescribers within Australia to take caution from is the following : "In many cases, there were other medications that were more effective or more suitable for a given patient". 🌿 𝑷𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝑺𝒆𝒍𝒇-𝒎𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏: 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒖𝒈𝒈𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 🌿 Cannabis is increasingly used for medical purposes, particularly in countries where it was already legalized for recreational use. However, concerning data arise from research, showing that some adults choose to self-medicate without first consulting a health professional. 🌿 In a Canadian study first published in 2022, 489 survey participants shared their main reasons for self-medication, which were related to 𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 (lack of information available, 52%) and 𝒂𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔 / 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 (‘going to a clinic is too complex’, 39%). 🌿 To address the reasons for self-medication raised by the research, caregivers, regulators, authorities, and manufacturers will need to join forces to raise awareness of the patient risks and ease their way into proper clinical consultation. #MedicalCannabis #SelfMedication #PatientSafety #SafeCannabisUse #PatientSupport #CannabisRegulation #GQCan
