Today, I got to check out the latest Chinese car—the BYD Yangwang U8! 🚗💦 I actually saw it float on water with my own eyes—it's something I've never seen before! The Yangwang U8 isn’t just packed with advanced tech, but it’s also bringing some crazy new innovations like this floating feature. 🤩 Here a video of me inside the car during this unbelievable experience🚙 BYD, which stands for "Build Your Dreams," was founded in 1995 as a battery manufacturer. One of my supervisors always says, "there is always room for improvement in any undertaking." Looking at this SUV, the improvements are surreal, game changing. It can slide into a parrel spot, go into boat mode when in water, slide down very steep roads among other things. And the question for all of us today is, how much improvement are you making in your knowledge base? In your career? Your people skills? Are you standing out? China has redefined technology

Don't try this at home kids: Chinese electric vehicle can go swimming. "The BYD Yangwang U8 has the ability to almost fully submerge in water. It can wade into water up to 1400mm in depth in an emergency.... and even float and move in water at speeds of up to 2.9 km/h (1.8 mph)" We've seen electric vehicles do some pretty heroic wading in the past, like Tesla's driving through flood waters, and even a converted electric LandCruiser crossing the Darwin harbour - on the sea floor! However, now we have BYD touting a massive 1.4 metre wading depth. This would be guaranteed engine hydro-lock on almost any IC vehicle. (ie connecting rods and crankshafts finding that water compresses much less easily than air) However, driving through 1.4 metres of fast moving flood waters would be really dumb idea. You could end up upside-down a few miles downstream, and become fish food. Or the kids might decide to wind down the windows 🪟. Either way, it won't be pretty.
