📣 The FSSC 22000 certification scheme is making strides in the food industry! This scheme outlines the requirements for the audit and certification of food safety management systems of organizations in the food supply chain. 🍲🔍 The Scheme is based on publicly available standards/technical specifications such as: • ISO 22000:2018 requirements for any organization in the food chain 📜 • Relevant prerequisite programs (PRPs) based on technical specifications for the sector (e.g., ISO/TS 22002-x; PAS xyz) 📝 • FSSC 22000 Additional Requirements as determined by our stakeholders 👥 The Scheme provides a voluntary certification model that can be applied across various sectors in the food supply chain. It has been benchmarked and recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) since February 2010, confirming global food industry recognition and acceptance. 🌍👏 As of March 2021, the Scheme has been endorsed as a sub-scope of the IAF MLA, demonstrating the technical rigor and consistency of the Scheme. 💪🏆 Stay tuned for more updates and let’s continue working towards a safer and more sustainable food industry! #FSSC22000 #FoodSafety #GlobalFoodSafetyInitiative #IAFMLA

Adopting the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards can provide a pathway for these companies in LATAM to access global markets. However, recent data shows nearly half of Latin American countries lack certification in any GFSI recognized food safety schemes, such as SQF, BRCGS, or FSSC 22000. Here are a few steps involved in bridging the gap to meet these certification requirements. #FoodSafety #GFSI #LatinAmerica
