Does anyone know how much it was to buy a 30 second spot during the NFL playoffs? Apparently those games averaged 38.5m viewers. Given the provisional numbers of 123m viewers of the Super Bowl, and the $7m 30-sec spot cost during the event, is it fair to think that anything under $2m for a playoff ad spot is therefore much better value? Furthermore, some watch the Super Bowl 'for the ads', while it is likely a more focused audience segmentation (those watching playoffs are more likely NFL fans). I wonder if anyone has made a business case that shows that a dozen or so ads during the playoffs is a better bet.
