Since 2010, the College’s largest annual service initiative has contributed more than 16,000 hours of service. Read more: https://bit.ly/4ekmlCS #BerkeleyCares

Chasing Success: the Challenge for Nonprofits calls for improved collaboration among nonprofit programs and for strengthened community systems, including more cooperative thinking and action not only among those funding and implementing programs but also among those setting policy, conducting research and engaging communities as partners in change. Today, far too often, nonprofit programs compete for resources and visibility--- without a focus on cooperation and the funding to sustain collaboration, there could be good programs but not the centrality to take what has been learned, scale the initiative and serve more people---with quality and validated outcomes. Interdisciplinary partners could include, for example, business schools, community leaders, political scientists and housing experts based upon the problem that the organization is trying to solve--the content of the work will provide guidance.

Rod and his team are the best. Fast, efficient and a wealth of knowledge in the business. I loved voicing this one, a bit of narration, different that a commercial really and still different from eLearning. The closest I’ve gotten to a “documentary”. #FortWayne #NonProfit #Narration
At Luminous we help nonprofits tell their story. Community Harvest has been serving this community for over 40 years! Watch this opening to their documentary and let's discuss your story! luminousproductions.org

Emotion drives giving- Tell compelling stories Stories have the power to turn abstract causes into personal missions. By sharing compelling narratives about the people and communities your nonprofit serves, you create an emotional bridge that connects potential donors to your mission. These stories give faces and voices to the impact of their contributions, making the cause tangible and real. When donors feel the emotion behind a cause, whether it's hope, urgency, or compassion, they're more likely to be moved to act. Use stories to highlight the challenges you face, the progress made, and the lives transformed. This is how we inspire generosity and long-term support of our cause. Check out the Community Bill of Rights from The Full Frame Initiative, meant to "not only help philanthropy shape its practices and principles, but also to fill the fundamental gap in accountability that exists in the philanthropic process." It was developed in collaboration with 16 leaders from communities around the country and includes a tool foundations and community organizations can use to reflect on their relationships. Tools that are practical AND about systems change are the best tools. https://lnkd.in/gnFseTe8

After months of discussions, focus groups, and retreats, SVCN is proud to announce our updated mission statement, new Strategic Framework, and Strategic Priorities for FY24. SVCN was founded in 1996 as a coalition of nonprofits working to address the root causes of the problems and needs of county residents, by strengthening nonprofit organizations and ensuring that they had a seat at planning and policy-making tables. Rooted in this history, SVCN has turned ever more of its attention, as an organization and an alliance of nonprofits, to systemic inequities.
